Do any of you like watching waterpolo? The world cup just started, so I'm wondering if there is any interest in it... Here in Canada it's not being shown at all, I guess because the Canadian team (if there is one) didn't qualify. Is it on in the US? The US team is there...

If it's not hocky, football, baseball, basketball, autoracing, soccer it isn't big in America.

JAT:

I went to high school in Southern California.
Water polo is pretty popular down there at the high school level.

I never got in to it.
I wish we had hockey in school instead.

Water polo is cool. It's fun to play and it's fun to watch.  Smile

Superfly:
I agree. I used to live down that way, and all of the high school teams had water polo teams.

I played for a year and then decided it wasn't for me. I like to play it for fun, but I decided competitively isn't for me. I now really appreciate how much work those guys put into the sport. Doing 1000 meters as a warm up everyday does something to your muscles. And to think this is middle school. I heard the pros do over 3 miles a day!

I do 5,000 meters every day except Sunday.

My best competition race is the 1,500 M. freestyle.

It's being held in Belgrade. I don't know if it's being broadcast in the US, it's not in Canada. Here are some websites;

I know the US was eliminated in the first round as I happen to stumble upon it in the paper. Who do you all think will win it?

If Hungary hasn't been eliminated, I think they could do it.
