Bin Laden has apparently been confirmed dead by al-queda.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/2252987.stm

"Arabic television station al-Jazeera says it has received a statement from ousted Taleban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar in which he has vowed to continue fighting until Afghanistan is "liberated".

The Qatar-based TV station, which has previously broadcast videotaped statements by al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, showed an unclear printed statement that appeared to be in Arabic. It said it was issued on 11 September this year.

"He [Omar] warned that holy struggle would continue until Afghanistan is liberated and Islamic teachings were re-installed," al-Jazeera said in a news bulletin. "

hopefully both will be brought to justice or hopefully both have died.

It is amazing what can be accomplised when nobody takes the credit

Duh, they want us to stop bombing them.

Bin Laden is alive and most Americans believe that.

Even if he is dead, which I still think is unlikely, Ayman al-Zawawri, the number 2 guy is far more dangerous. He is responsible for most of bin Ladin's beliefs. I just think bin Ladin was a better speaker and orator.

If it is true I can only hope he truly suffered. Quick and painless would be way too good for this monster.

Apathoid, it is nice to know that, if dead, he died knowing his actions resulted in more appreciation for America and one less country under radical islamic rule. Sort of counter-productive from his perspective, eh?

Like my sig on another forum used to say, "Osama, Open Wide and Say GBU!" One can only hope that is the case but something tells me he is still out there hiding like the coward that he is.

Even so, there is no difference between Bin Laden and Mullah Omar.

They can get lost and die as far as the world is concerned, and take their fundamentalist and extremist principals along with them.

Damn them all to hell.

Any word on how he died, if he's dead? If he is, I hope it was painful and extremely slow, but even more I wished I could've killed him myself.

Follow the money. Without resources, terrorists can do far less harm.
I don't care who was in charge....just get the people or institutions that control the funds and a lot of this bullshit will stop.

A recent reuters article pointed out that all of Bin-Laden's known body gaurds had spread out to numerous locations around the world. Now this could be a diversion, but it could also mean bin Laden's corpse is not in need of their services.

As far as anyone is aware US intel or any other intelligence service never picked up the flurry of communication traffic that would be expected if a major leader had been killed.

That was one of the way we where able to confirm that Atef, the intel chief had been exploded.
