ok,

So this got me deleted. But I still want to post it and i'm not going to be intimidated by any moderators. To save this post getting deleted i'll explain everything in full detail so everyone understands what i am talking about and why.

'CS' or counter-strike, is a half-life (a computer game for the PC;Personal computer) mod (or modification; modification is a seperate game using another games game-engine). This game, 'CS' is where there are two teams of typically 6 people, on either Terrorist or counter-terrorist teams. There are many different realistic 'maps' (gaming arena's) to play on, and a couple of different scenario's. Bomb plant/diffuse (de_), Hostage rescue (cs_), Assasination/VIP (as_), escape maps (can't remember the prefix) etc etc...

A 'Clan' is a group of people, or friends, who all play together on CS (counterstrike) against other 'clans'. The players in these 'clans' usually have a 'tag' which is normally an abbreviated version of the clan name (ie. Happy little elves would be [HLE]). these 'clans' either play friendlies (a friendly is where two 'clans' play against each other on a one off occasion), or a league or cup. This is the point of clans!!

Now that that is over with, and I hope hepkat now understands fully, otherwise my ass is outta here.... I'll get onto the point.

A couple of months ago a couple of people suggested about forming an A.net clan, but nobody was really interested. I'm pretty sure we've got a good amount of players here, although i'm in no doubt that the majority of you either suck or are n00bs  Big grin  Big grin  Big grin. Anyways it'd be cool if we could just have a fun a.net clan, called something like [A.NET] or [AN] or something....

Is anyone interested? I hate clans but wouldn't mind a mess around one just for fun, even if we don't play many matches (or maybe we could get pprune or someone to form a clan, then play them Big grin).

Just give me a bell!!!

As I said before, I'd like to join.

(What I'd like to join is EGGD's suggestion for a "clan". A 'Clan' is a group of people, or friends, who all play together on CS (counterstrike) against other 'clans'. ok thats three (plus one) we really need 6 to have a friendly, so 3 more people?

Come on!!! I know there is some of you out there.

AC320 - All you need is a half decent internet connection, a half decent computer and Half-Life (or the half life Generations kit), CS is free if you download the whole lot soo......

I would perhaps be interested... i played in a (now very good) clan until the end of 2001. Then this game became boring for me and I uninstalled it. But Sometimes I would like to play it again... so, why not here? [but not for sure]

Well I think I've found a good reason to get off my bum and install CS on my comp.

In other words, count me in. Just let me know when it's going to happen > shawnb777@adelphia.net or "ShawnB777" on AIM.

I hope you aren't extremely good at CS Dan. I have lots of experience with HL and I'm really good at it, but as far as CS goes, I know the 747 map by heart, that's it.  Big grin

AC320 - you can't! You need the individual CDkey for your half life and wonid otherwise they won't let you play online (ie. you need your own copy).

But I think thats 4/5 of us now!

Dan, count Matt in! Those Germans are damn good at CS!! Big grin

Last match we did was vs. the Xerox team, some German internet clan. Those guys are amazing! They even have their own website : http://www.team-xerox.com One of their players is part of the mTw team, who are3rd in the world for CS. Go to http://cyberleagues.org to see major clan rankings.

We also did a match vs. the "ck" team, who are fifth in France. Our team was the Fop.mad team (FoP=Frag or Perish) we're #92 if you look at standings for french counter-strike.

Whats your CS name Dan?

Mine was "-Md.KerryGeTz-" now I use Replicant...

originally, I was Sithe, then when I realized that was a dyslexic way of spelling Scythe, I changed it to that. I played with that for about 1 1/2 years until CS 1.0 came out, when I stopped playing.

In June 2002 I started playing again under the name 'EGGD' (original!!!) that was until I got banned so I came back as 'UndercoverEGGD' as a joke and it stuck.

So I'm now undercoverEGGD which is the source of many jokes on Blueyonder  Big thumbs up.

It's bozos like you who are the root of terrorism and hate in this world. Satisfying your inner fetish for causing mass death and destruction, yet preaching peace: each of you who joins this satanic cult can be counted as a bloodthirsty hypocritical fool.

j/k, if anyone wants to send me a free copy ( Acting devilish), I'll be happy to join, or you can just wait until I have money to get Halflife and the Counterstrike modification. Until then, count on me to join at some point  Big thumbs up.

Tell me, what's so special that they have their own website!? Isn't normal? The clans I know (also the super-little-ones) have an own-website, an own IRC-Channel and normally also a CS-Public Server... some clans are even sponsored by IT-Companies. I think Germany is a good nation in CS, because it is very popular here and most CS-Players in the world are Germans.
The last clan i played on was "RuSh!" (www.rush-clan.de; very nice homepage but only in German I think [but you can understand some things because it is very popular to use english words in German language; "Daenglisch"]) I played there until the end of 2001. Until then, they were a good fun-clan. Then they got professionals with official tactics for every map that every player had to learn, sponsors, a lot of Servers etc. They also started squads for Cs-Women, Quake3, UT, Fifa, WC3, etc.
They were placed rank 1 in clanbase-world for some time. so, that's good. But I think I'm not good. I was one of the worser ones in the clan and i didn't play it for a long time. But a funclan... that would be ok.

Is there a stand-alone version of CS that doesn't require the original Half-Life?

On the subject of games, anyone see the preview for Halo 2?! My goodness, must.......buy.........XBox.............

AC320 - Yes I think there was...

But I don't think its worth it, its much the same price (about £5 instead!) and you only get about 1/4 that you do with half life.

Oh well!! Good thing about half life is that most packs come with half life (an awesome game) and opposing force too (another reasonably good game), along with most of the mods.
