3Dfx- What Happened?

Being a proud owner of a Voodoo3 and having used a V2 before I was shocked to hear that 3Dfx was sold to nVida. I always though that 3dfx video card sales were healthy and never expected this to happen. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Consolidation is the name of the game in the computer world.

Today 3Dfx is part of nVida, tommorow it's part of ATI. Everything rotates. The products don't usually change in quality though. At least, I don't think they do.

The combination of 3Dfx & nVida isn't because of sluggish sales, it's because of one company wanting to eliminate their competitor.
