The 11 years old son of the family von Metzler was found dead today. He was kidnapped on friday and the family paid 1.000.000€ ransom to release him. The kidnapper is a 27 years-old student who knew the family and their children. He never intended to bring the hostage back, he killed him on friday directly after he kidnapped him. The family von Metzer is one of the most honorable familes in Frankfurt, they live very quiet and donate lots of money every year for charity.
It makes me sick how people can do things like this, just for a bit of money. And the chances of a success are very low, a spokesman of the police said that in Germany 95% of all kidnappers are arrested. Why not rob a bank, why not hide taxes or something like that, at least something you don't hurt people with.

This idiot makes me also sick, he killed the boy a few hours after he kidnapped him and after the homicide he asked for the ransom money. The parents payed the 1.000.000 Euro but they did not get back their son.

Most kidnappers have no intention of returning the collateral alive. This would put them in a position to get caught with the child. Rather than doing that they'll hire someone to pick up the money, drop it off close to where they're hiding, escape having killed the kidnapee soon after the kidnapping.
Really, it makes sense. They want money, not a mouth to bother them for however long it takes to get the money.
