The reason i ask, is because somewhere along the line, these disgusting abortion should-have-beens got it into their brainstems that it's ok to act this way.
Personally I hope their parents get sentenced to watching them being dismembered alive by a table saw...

This is absolutely outrageous. I can't believe kids could do such a thing, I can't believe they didn't have ANY respect at all to not even do anything to the man in the first place.
I mean for gods sake, what is the world coming too? This is unbelievable, kids for gods sake!! What had this man done in his life to deserve this? I hope they get the discipline they deserve .
I feel for all the family of the victim, my thoughts are with you .

I think this whole thing was a result of a childish prank gone wrong. It was unfortunate that Mr. Young died as a result of it, but is it worth ruining multiple children's lives over that? The system should definitely consider the ages of the kids when deciding whether to try them as adults or not. It is not as if this was a mob with a history of killing people at random. Only one person died, so its not that big of a deal.

Hmm, think of Mr Young's family...Of course it's worth it. Those animals should be shot.
"Only one person died, so its not that big of a deal." Maybe we should brutally kill one of your loved ones...Hell I'm a minor, lets see how you feel about this then.

That is sick. Just goes to show you the there are people who are simply born cruel. I went to school with a lot of them when I was younger. I never understood how people could be so mean.

HELL YES. this was no childish prank gone wrong, this was a cowardly pack attack on a random person ... these are not children, they're less than animals... why should people forfeit their lives for these "pranks" as you call them. One is one to many.
Let me remind you of what the article says:
A man savagely beaten with rakes, shovels and baseball bats by a child mob died Tuesday as authorities held nine youths in custody, and sought seven more. that's 16 youths.
Young, 36, suffered severe brain injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition after the attack. He died Tuesday, said Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital spokesman Mark McLaughlin.
The system should definitely consider the ages of the kids when deciding whether to try them as adults or not. It is not as if this was a mob with a history of killing people at random. Only one person died, so its not that big of a deal.
No they shouldn't .. this was a MOB attack, the ultimate in serious crimes. This is not a prank gone wrong .. this is sheer lunicy and to minimise it with petty do gooder statements is offensive to not only the family of the dead victim, but every other citizen in the area where these young animals reside!
Lock them up! Throw the key away!
It is not as if this was a mob with a history of killing people at random. Only one person died, so its not that big of a deal.
You have no idea of the mobs history and your comment about only one person having died is arrogant and ignorant. Would you feel the same way if he was your father? or your son?

Alpha,
Most of the time, I can pick up sarcasm & "toungue in cheek"ness in a post like a bloodhound on a skunk's trail. I don't see any in B747-437B's post (no winking smiley face or anything of the sort). Unfortunately, I think he's serious.
For once, I'm with ADG on this. They should be tried as adults. Though my first instinct is the death penalty, upon being found guilty though, I'd vote for a maximum security boot camp style prison - hard work & unbearable discipline. If there's is any chance for redemption, let them prove it themselves. If not, then it's time for the death sentence.

Rapo, I know B747437B, and I talk to him quite often. He's a big boy, and doesn't need me to stand up for him, but trust me when I say, it was indeed sarcasm. If you don't want to believe that, fine, but I know it was.

For those wondering whether my comments were tongue in cheek, I can assure you that they were. I worked 3 years in law enforcement and one of my pet peeves was the teenage offenders who gamed the juvie system on a monthly basis. As ADG put it very aptly, lock 'em up and throw away the key.
