Ah Airliners.net!...Not sure if it should in-fact be called Airwhiners.Net! What? What's that? What the hell am I on about you ask?

I remember a post a while back that outlined the different "stages" that any one post would go through. I remember reading it and thinking..."Yes!!" "Hit the nail on the head there mate!" I cant remember who it was (I'm sure I'll be told who, when, given the link, have this message deleted and told to consult THAT post). I've no problem with being told to consult any post at all, the thing that bothers me is most of the time I cant find the link between the question being asked and the answers given.

Anyway, Why cant we just answer the question were asked?

A good example is the What Do You Look Like? Post. To me, (maybe its me that's not seeing something?), it looks like some guy wants to know what we look like? Simple! Right? Right?? Obviously not!

I like a joke as much as the next guy, but when we fill about 20 screens with "jokes" is a little too much especially for those of us with slow or very slow internet connections. We come in, see a post, want to see all the members real faces, spend 10-15 Minutes downloading images and finally see the same picture about three times and some photos of Frankenstein etc. (I'm waiting to see how log it takes to stick a photo of our friend Jacko in there!)

Of course I know where this post is going: Il probably get one (two if VERY lucky) "proper" replies, then get the usual "If you don't like it, then don't post here!" rigmarole, then someone will request a Shaft, then the shaft will be delivered, post will get too out of hand then be deleted >>that is of course if anyone gets to read it seeing as this type of post was posted before therefore could be deleted at first!

So yeah, I could ramble on and on about this topic, but seeing as I just wont have the time to shift through all the "joke" replies, I'm going to stop.

Thanks
J

P.S. On a serious note? Does anyone else notice what im talking bout?

Part of the reason is that the original 'topic' of the thread is sometimes a thinly disguised attempt at something else altogether, see US Marine killed in Kuwait. Others are simple trolling attempts and get the attention they deserve regarding the style of the post rather than the content.

I must admit as soon as the word Israel arises on any thread - as it seems to in the most unlikely places - I'm of but sometimes the tangents threads take can be quite amusing or enlightening.

Ever had a conversation with a group of friends? You start on one subject and end on something completely different. It's no different here.
