I ran across an article about someone who raised a flying squirrel.
Does anyone hear have a pet flying squirrel (sugar glider)? Any other weird pets you may own???
We have a schanuzer, a kitten and a conure (bird).
The conure is our most 'exotic.'
What are yours?

I had a Mexican Red-legged Taratula as a kid. It lived to be about 24 years old. She was very tame and docile. Best pet I ever had. They're not noisy and you only have to feed them about once a month. Also, you're never supposed to clean their cages. I think they are endangered now. Ahhh, what a beauty she was.

Come on KROC, trouser-snake your pet? I think we know who's the pet and who's the master in that relationship.

I sort of have what could be considered "semi-exotic." My only pet is a dog, but a pretty strange one, at least for the US. I don't know about other parts of the world for the breed. She is a whippet. Whippets are sort of like 1/3rd sized grey hounds. My dog is 28 pounds/13kg (sorry, I don't know how to convert that to kg, so it might be wrong). She is also very skinny. I wish I could get in the minds of people that have seen me taking her for a walk and don't know what she is. They probably think I'm starving her, seeing that "poor", "emaciated" thing.

Dripstick, I always look forward to your pics! Cute.
Actually, I have heard of Whippets and seen photos, but never met an owner. Very cool. Would you post a photo here?
No squirrel owners, eh?

Niles Crane had a Whippet in an episode of Frasier.
Frasier: " ... she's a canine substitute for Maris ... She is high strung, cold to the touch and ignores you. My God, stand her upright, take 10 lbs. off her, put her in a Chanel suit and what have you got!"

Whippets: Aren't they supposed to be the "fastest dogs in the world" or something? I think I remember reading that once in a book about dogs?
Flying squirrels: That was in Reader's Digest, wasn't it? I saw the article to which you were referring, and it made me kind of wish that I had a flying squirrel, too.

Yep, that reader's digest article had me wishing the same.
Yep, I can't spell schnauzer late at night. So I call him Billy.
There isn't much on the internet about howe to keep a flying squirrel as a pet. Too bad, seemed like a cool one to have.

Just to add my two "centavos" here...
xxx
I have two Siamese cats (and they are twin sisters too) - model "Seal Points" - with the standard blue eyes, 4 years old... no way to differentiate them, so one has a blue neck collar, the other one has a red one...
The problem is that my son thinks it's funny to trade their collars, darned kid...
xxx
The other pet is a dog... 3 years old... named Nikita...
Siberian Husky, a Mr. Dog... confuses my shoes and the trees...
Obviously, he barks in Spanish, but this, with a Russian accent...
I heard he had an affair with a tall lady French Poodle at the parc...
xxx
Then my favorite pet, my wife Marcela... quite exotic... 1969 model...
crossbreed, 75% Italian, 25% Guarani (native tribe of N. Argentina)...
By luck she does not speak English - she would kill me with her fangs...
