Reading a report today saying the number "118" seems to be an unlucky number for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In August 2000, 118 Russian Soldiers died when the submarine "Kursk" sanked.

In August 2002, 118 soldiers were killed in the Chechnya when the rebels fired at their transport helicopters.

In October 2002, 118 died when the Special Russian Troops stormed the Moscow theatre when hostages taking took place.

These 3 incidents all occurred during Putin in power.

I'm afraid the third one of those incidents may end up with a higher death toll than 118; if the numbers are correct though, either way, it's kind of chilling...

Ahh...yes, and also if you work out the numbers of 9-11-2001, add two to the last two digits of 2001, divide by 32, multiply by the square root of 323, then put it in the equation, a + 323985, then divide by 2324, you get 666.

People always get freaked out by numbers, especially when they occur in tragic events. They mean nothing.

117 died in the helicopter crash not 118

Death toll from the theatre siege is 120 now.

All this is not 'unlucky for Putin', it is a tragedy for all Russians

Also,

what is very unclear to me if the number 120 includes 42 terrorists or not. I could not find a specific answer in the Russian media.

120~ is the number of hostages killed, no one cares about the "rebels".
