Any Hotmail Addresses Out There?

I was looking through the archive & found AMSMAN's thread about MSN e-mail addresses. There are quite a few there, but I know other users have joined a.net since May.

So, out of curiosity, what's your hotmail address if you have one, and is there a story behind how you came up with it?

Mine's spraguedog_1011@hotmail.com
(Spraguedog's one of my nicknames, 1011 comes from my favorite plane- the L-1011)

I don't have a hotmail address, but I HIGHLY suggest that from now on, put your e-mail as user@NOSPAMdomain.com to prevent spamming programs from getting your e-mail address.

I don't use it for e-mail too much, though -- mainly for using Messenger to keep in touch with a friend of mine teaching English in Japan.

Hotmail used to require a person to be 18, did those rules change?

In Hotmail's favor, I applaud their Outlook Express feature and the Bulk Mail folder. Sadly, Hotmail is still a major source of SPAM.

As has been noted, only give out your e-mail to those you know and trust.

sunair727@hotmail.com

I don't use the email for emailing purposes, just for MSN messenger. So go on, and add me to your list!  Wink/being sarcastic The "sunair727" part of my email is pretty self-explanatory.

For email, I use my yahoo! address as I think Yahoo! email is much better than hotmail. So far I have avoided SPAM, and if I do get any, I block the address STRAIGHT away, tell them at the bottom of the email in fine print that I don't want their freaking junk mail, and I report it to Yahoo! Spam Guard. Usually it works very well.

I used to have a Hotmail account for "official" purposes, i.e. for email conversations with anybody except my friends (my main email address is only known to them and my family), but after I got totally spammed, I switched my secondary address to GMX. No problems with spamming since then...  Big thumbs up

I have my regular one that I try to keep as spam free as possible, so I won't say it here. My "other" hotmail accounts are

ujagoff@... (you jagoff)
dwarvesarefunny@... (coz they are)
skipperthecat@... and droolingtardcat@... (my wife's cats' accounts. don't ask)

Since they started the delete after 30 day policy, I've abandoned
toenailgoop@... ('nuff said)
xtashusband@... (my wife's name is Christa)

I think that's it...

Thanks for the responses- go ahead & add me to your lists if you want to!

I've been lucky in terms of SPAM, I've never had any come into my inbox for whatever reason, which is a good thing. I wonder how I got spared.

Today, I'm more careful to mention my hotmail to everybody nowadays, 'cause I've recieved virus attachments to mails several times, and the only "official" place of my mail-address have been in my user-profile here on a.net (today, I only have hotmail to the "contact"-link of my a.net-photos).

Any other user, who have recieved multiple virus-mails?

Johan

Mine is: bravo45@hotmail.com. Made it many years ago and as I wanted to keep something short and related to aviation, Alpha1 would be the first to come to mind. But just being someone out of ordinary rather just another callsign I chose bravo I don't know why. Also Alpha1 seems to be somewhat towards arrogant side and a bit unrealistic (not directed towards Alpha1 who happenes to be a member here, this is what I though about Alpha1 for me years ago when I was not aware of you). And then speaking bravo__ in my mind the number 45 came to mind and here we are. Since then I have gone for bravo45 where ever I signup. Lots of spam here. But couldn't get bravo45 on yahoo so I am sticking to hotmail. Second choices were victor, sierra and oscar, couldn't find any of them with different 2 digits on yahoo.
This thread reminded me of the memory that made bravo45 sound and look like so much like me.  Smile
