Out there in the world wide web you can find many programs for instant messages such as AOL's AIM, ICQ, MSN and others.
At one time I had ICQ, MSN and AIM and now I only use AIM. I never figured out how to use MSN (well I never really cared about it as I know hardly anybody using it) and ICQ I somehow just didn't like. AIM is very simple to use but it doesn't offer many possibilities besides the normal chatting.
Which of these do you use and why?

I use both icq and msn. Msn is great when you have broadband 'cause you can talk with people (who has broadband too) like if it was by telephone. The sound is great and your not paying for any call.

Read my lips - ICQ stinks

It is so cluttered, has too many features without tutorials, features are awkwardly placed not in strategic places (MSN Messenger does theirs well) and also, many unwanted guests lurk the ICQ network.

It's a big wonder why all my classmates use ICQ.

Well maybe I should invest some time and learn how to work MSN then if it's so good... Talking over AIM is kinda lousy, sounds like talking to the moon (and I use broadband).

I'll investigate the MSN talk thing, it sounds excellent.

MSN is by far my favorite. I use it all the time. Very easy and convinient. I used to luv ICQ, but now, I don't. Its OK. AIM is horrible IMO plus you can let anyone add you to the contact list.

I use trillian which supports icq, yahoo messenger, aim, msn & irc at the same time. its very easy to use, looks nice and i don't need two or more messengers to find my friends... I am always connected to ICQ and yahoo, but most friends use ICQ ...

Well, since most of my friends are on flatrate, it's usually easier for us to catch up on IRC. So, I use AldIRC, a mIRC script by a friend of mine, and usually connects to a few networkrs (QNet, GamesNET & UnderNET)

I use MSN and mIRC, used to have ICQ as well, but I removed it about 2 years ago, I had a girlfriend in those days and we had a lot of ICQ correspondence....when things were getting out of hand between us, I decided to remove ICQ as quick as possible, so I don't had to put up with her #$%#@ anymore Big grin

Since things has been changed since then....I'm considering restarting my ICQ again....to be continued.... Big grin

I use iChat to talk to my son in the next room and to the other son who is in college 500 miles away.

iChat is not for everyone, though.

I use AIM primarily, I have MSN but rarely use it (I only got it to talk to my British host before I went to England), and I also use mIRC...
