In the old days, when you bought an Aston Martin you were buying something that was completely hand crafted. The engine would have a plate on the side with the name of the man (only one) who put it together. If ever you had a problem with that engine, they would send to you the same man who built it (even from retirement) and it would be his responsibility to get the engine running again.
Is this still the case, or has it gone with Ford's ownership?

Yes but cars are generally selling higher then retail since supply is limited and demand is higher.....only if you book in advance and are prepared to wait for a some time then you can get at MSRP.....but if you want one right away you are looking at $260,000.....you can check yourself the pictures and prices of Vanquishes available for sale on Dupont registry's website.
