I'm not too crazy about it, but it does look better than the Gorton's fisherman jersey. I'm interested on what you guys, with no rooting interest have to say about it.

(and yes, that is Carol Alt)

It gives me a headache.

Seriously, I like 'em. Not that they aren't loud, which they are, but I'm sure they'll look pretty good on the ice. It's a different look, for sure, but it is a nice departure from the regular. Change is good.

Now if the Hurricanes could get a third jersey.......I'm thinking black...

Man, Mike Milbury must be desperate to win... give the opponents migrains by looking at those things!!

Alexei Yashin sure looks happy to be wearing one of those(tall guy next to mascot in top photo).

He's just reminiscing about the dazzling 1 point he produced in the playoffs the year after he held out for more cash.

At least they look better than those red Buffalo jerseys with the cartoonish looking swords!

The NHL has waaaaaay too many (at least primarily) red jersey teams. Do the Islanders want to be washed out with the rest of the league? They should have opted for black or blue as the dominant color.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

Why do the Islanders always look to change their jerseys? What's wrong with the current one?

I think it looks awful. And I agree that there are too many teams using red as the dominant jersey color. Only one team is truly entitled to wear red. A member of the hallowed "Original Six," the current Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings.

Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!

Stretch 8, I agree about the sweater, disagree about the Wings. They are just not deep enough to compete with the Stars this year. It's time to thaw out the Cup by having Mike Modano carry it around in the June Texas sunshine.

I would suggest that the Montreal Canadiens also be one of the teams entitled to wear red. I also dont think this is Dallas' year. I've never been one of type to cheer for teams who have tried to buy a Cup like they have. They are the NY Rangers with a little more chemistry. I can see them getting knocked off in the conference semi's..

Well, I just got back from the game vs. Ottawa (tied 2-2) and I wore the new jersey that I got bright and early at around 6am today, [autographed by Mark Perrish, mind you] I personally like it, and seems like lots of fans liked them too.

We needed a little change around here

Darnit, JFKSpotter! If I knew that you were going to be at the Coliseum this morning to pick up an autographed jersey I wouldve paid you to pick me one up also. I live in Dallas, so driving out to the Coliseum on the Meadowbrook at 6AM was out of the question. The jersey has really grown on me since they have rolled them out, I think they are pretty cool, and the beat the "fishstick" jerseys by a mile! Ottawa is the most boring team in the world with the dump and chase style they employ, I nearly turned off the TV in the 2nd period. Weinhandl looks like he will become a very good NHL player, he reminds me of Palffy sometimes with his quick moves. Anyway, its good to know that there is another Islander fan on these boards.

Lets go Islanders, and oh yeah, the Ranger$ suck!
