Mr. Robertson deserves some criticism for making statements like:
A close study of the Quran makes very clear the violent spirit fueling what is being spun as a 'peaceful religion.'
Does he really think statements like that help anyone? Many people have been killed in the name of God, and his particular god isn't innocent of this by a long shot!

The amount of violence and killing and other crimes against humanity can be associated with damn near every organized religion. It's absurd when someone comes out and tries to run smack on just one type of religion.

More choice tidbits from the Ayatollah of the Bigoted backward Christian Right (or shall we call them the Christian Wrong):
The 700 Club, Dec. 30, 1981; "The Constitution of the United States, for instance, is a marvelous document for self-government by Christian people. But the minute you turn the document into the hands of non-Christian and atheistic people they can use it to destroy the very foundation of our society."
The 700 Club, January 14, 1991; "You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. I can love the people who hold false opinions but I don't have to be nice to them"
Federal News Service, Sept. 11, 1992, quoting a Robertson newsletter; "I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."
"With all due respect to those dear people, my friend, God Almighty does not hear the prayer of a Jew."
"I wish the Jews in America would wake up. Hitler was bad, but what the Muslims want to do to the Jews is worse." (From www.Time.com)
Huh??? Hamas and the fanatical Islamicists aside, I still have to see any established mainstream Muslim leader wanting to annihilate people with Xyclon gas.
This coming from one of America's worst anti-semites. Gee... Hitler was bad. Oh my ! I wonder what counts as fundamentally rotten in Mr. Robertson's books? Maybe that category is only reserved for liberals, secularists, working women and gays.

If you're trying to start something, dude, it ain't gonna work. I don't think anyone will disagree with your statement. Pat Robertson truly is a moron.

Rupert Murdoch said that Robertson is 'correct on the fundamental issues', Murdoch owns many papers worldwide and Fox News, he's known for interfering in editorial decisions.

"Moron" is too kind a word to describe Pat Robertson -- it only means stupid or mentally retarded.
Robertson is a hateful bigot and a religious zealot. He represents everything we hate about fanatics; in fact, he is more similar to the Islamic fundamentalists he admonishes than to mainstream western society. At least, for now, he has not embraced terrorism to spread his gospel, but don't hold your breath!

Perhaps now would be a good time to point out that Senator John McCain's campaign to win the Republican nomination for President essentially ended when he actually dared to call Pat Robertson "intolerant".
There are obviously a huge number of Republicans that disagree with the statement. They think Pat's swell.

Pat Robertson is correct on a lot of things but his problem is he likes to swallow his entire leg when he opens his mouth. Tactfulness is something that anyone in the public light should have and he does not have it. You do not have to agree with him and last time I checked, he has the right to say and believe anything he wants. Despite what certain people want, the United States still guarantees freedom of speech even if certain groups don’t agree with it.
Now if this thread was started about some Muslim, Atheist, or other “accepted” religion, then it would be deleted and the user who posted it would probably be banned. However, to the liberal, socialists, communists, and other members of the radical left on this forum, bashing Christians is perfectly acceptable. Good to know the double standards on Airliners.net are still in full effect! I guess when Judgment Day comes a lot of people will be surprised @ who was right and who was wrong.

757300 -
Yeah, airliners.net is such an anti-free speech Stalinist backwater....thats why these postings are filled with liberal bashers, democrat bashers galore. At least we secular liberals believe in the constitutional rights of freedom of speech - even if it comes from Mr. Robertson or his cheerleaders. Thats you, pal. But freedom of speech extends to expressing disgust at his blatant attempts to subvert freedoms for the rest of us.
And as far as your pathetic whining complaints about Christian bashing is concerned, we sure as hell aint bashing Mr & Mrs Jimmy Carter who go to Church, do the right thing, follow the teachings of Christ, and show a good deal of Christian charity. We're just nauseated by Pat - and his blinkered cheerleaders who clearly can't tell the difference between a repugnant bigot like Pat and the nice Pastor down the street.
Hope he has a portable Air conditioner. I've heard its really hot in Hell. And I hope that your cheerleading pom poms are of the flame retardant variety.

So how exactly do you know, Pat?
The statement above bothers me more than the others.
It's one thing for an evangelical, of any faith, to attempt to convert an atheist or an agnostic like myself...But to disparage the beliefs of equally devout members of a different faith is self-righteous, cultural arrogance of the worst kind. Until the existence of any deity can be proven beyond a doubt, all religions will remain a matter of personal faith: Unimpeachably real to believers, but simple mythology to nonbelievers. I don't have a problem with religion in that context, but I have a huge problem with Pat Robertson or anyone claiming, as fact, that his God is any more real than the Jewish God is to Jews or even Allah is to Muslims ...it's ridiculous.

Wrong. He swallows his whole leg because he is fundamentally wrong on most issues in America. He's so far to the right, he's almost off the political scale, and his view on many of American's social, economic, and military dealings are dangerous for this country.
Remember-this is a man who took credit for steering a hurricane off the coast of North Carolina once. Last time I checked, only the Almighty can do that, and Pat Robertson is not that.

Sour grapes, coming from the fingers of a right-wing apologist, I think. And besides, the airwaves is filled with these blowhard right-wingers who want to take America to where the Nazis were. So what if this got deleted-go listen to someone like Rush Limbaugh if you don't like it.
I guess when Judgment Day comes a lot of people will be surprised @ who was right and who was wrong.
According to what I believe, when that day come, the phonies and hate-mongers of all stripes, will be uncovered for what they truly are, and that inculdes charlatians like Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwall and Ralph Reed. I don't think God intended a place for hate-mongers like that to sit in His Kingdom.

Gee 757300 I, as a christian, do not feel at all bashed. The fact is that there are people like Robertson and Falwell (thaks Alpha1) who claim to be christian but are not.
I'll just throw a "Falwellism" in here for fun. Many years ago some idiots blew up his broadcast tower and he had to borrow time on another system to broadcat his hatred. Not a big deal really but he spent several weeks begging his followers to send money to rebuild the thing. What he negelected to mention is that his insurance company had already paid for the rebuild. I wonder how many house payments he was able to make from the poor (literally) donors?
To quote Ray Stevens. "Would Jesus wear a Rolex on his television show?"
Charlatans all.
What is it with all the "is there a possibilty airline X will.." threads? The answer it'll is possible.
