Hello,

Is it just be or is it a little bit early for everyone to be putting up the decoration?

Matt,

Same here in Ireland. Seems to be earlier and ealier every year.

As for answering the question question itself (which I forgot to do in my first post), a fake tree.

LOL I was in NYC about 2 months ago and yet I came across a set of twinkling christmas trees profusing in the showcase of a do-it-yourself-store a few blocks behind Canal street Big grin Big grin

We get a real tree every year for the living room and we have a fake 12 foot high tree we put in the foyer in front of the staircase.

We have a fake one. I decided a couple years back that fake trees are much better.

Real one, cut down a new one every year. We got a new dog this year, so this'll be one huge disaster.

My parents started decorating their place at the beginning of Thanksgiving. They were the first one's in the neighborhood to have their lights and ornaments up. No tree yet though. But hey, it's never too early for Christmas lights!!!

As far as the tree, I have a fake tree that I've had for years. I think since college! I never really saw the point in getting a new one since the one I have is still perfectly usable and still looks nice.

We go and chop one down every year. Nothing like fresh pine and fresh garlin in the house around the holidays.

A dead one. I knock the dman things over and cut all the wires on the lights when I see them.

Bah Humbug! Christmas is an overhyped joke. I make it a point to tell children that Santa is dead and that the only point to christmas is for large corporations to make money.

I'm not really joking here. This is what it's all come to when radio stations and stores start having nothing but "Merry Christmas: crap the week before Thanksgiving.

Gotta go, my neighbor down the hill just switched on those infernal lights. Wire cutters in hand.

I am glad I was around to fly before de-regulation.

While I agree with your second part wholeheartedly, I disagree with your first part. To some Christmas is more than just a joke, or a way for large corporations to make even more money, it's a special holiday.

Just my two cents...

Marco, I hear you and I agree. Forgive me for being bitter. Something happened this evening and I just need to hate everything for a while.

We just put one real tree up. Now my girlfriend puts 5 trees in her house every year. Her family has a lot of space to fill. We just went and chopped down two this past weekend. I think they put up 4 real and 1 fake. Her mom goes nuts with the X-mas decorations too. It really puts you in the festive mood though.

I got real lazy this year and got one of those pre-lit trees that in addition to the lights has fiber optics that changes colors. All I had to do was take the tree out of the box, pull down the branches, put the tree into its' stand, plug it in, and then adjust the branches so the tree wouldn't look like Charlie Brown's tree. 10 minutes and I was done!
