I got an assignment to do a a small book about a subject of my choice, I chose Canada. Now I am out of ideas what to write about, so far I've managed to write about History, Small info about Nature, Sports, Literature, Music and Politics. I'm still planning to include a "quick facts" page and write a page (A4/Letter size) about all provinces. Do you think I should tell about anything else?

Also links to any websites that you think migth be useful are very welcome.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Alex

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

Go look for famous Canadian inventions (try that in a search -- someone has written a book on it.)

You might get a surprise -- there are a lot of them, some aviation related.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Ask user Yyz717 about Toronto (centre of Canada), and he'll give you more than enough information to convince you why Toronto is better than Montreal in a million aspects. Big grin

May not hurt to look here. http://www.gc.ca I am assuming you have already covered everything about the natives, and confederation, and Louis Riel in your history section. Also it is important to talk about our laws on being bilingual under your History or Politics section. If you have any questions in particular post them here and I will be happy to answer. Or you can email me directly if you would like.

Best of luck.

How about the Avro CF-105 Arrow? That was a great piece of Canadian Aeronautical achievement. Shame that program was cancelled.  Sad

I can tell you a bit about Vancouver...

It's the 3rd largest city in Canada with 2 million people, after Toronto (4 million) and Montreal (3 million)

Has the second largest Asian population in North America, after San Francisco

Vancouver is home to both the richest and poorest neighborhoods in Canada

It's the third largest center for major film production in North America, after Los Angeles and New York

We have the second largest city park in North America, Stanley Park (the first is Central Park in North America)

I can't think of more right now, but if you need any help, feel free to email me.

Jay

It is the national animal for our southern neighbor.

I know Calgary (alberta) the most highly educated city in Canada (I got that for a book called "How to be a Canadian."

Also, at any given time, 70% of BC's population is chained to a tree.
