Yeah, theyre real, I've seen one of the videos. Not cool stuff...interesting though, its like watching a train crash. You dont want to see the carnage, but you just cant stop wondering what will come next.

i've never seen it and i don't exactly think i want to, but its just like people slowing down to look @ an accident.

I think all this stuff is for people who like to face their mortality. "could've been me", you know?

Personally, i come to terms with mortality whenever i fly or go to the doctor.

I don't know what you are talking about but at fugly.com I downloaded some video's of people being hit by trains, involved in car crashes, breaking limbs etc.

Not the stuff I enjoy, but as Jcs said, you can't not look away. I guess its just in human nature to be inquisitive about these things...

Reminds me of where I saw a recent car accident on a highway, and a woman was stopped on the other side and looked on in horror at the 2 victims bodies (or what was left of them  Sad).

Wierd :/

The fascination with morbid scenes of carnage struck close to home recently.

My friend's roomate is a cameraman at a big, local South Florida tv news operation.....i once asked him if he got to accident scenes before paramedics and saw the really nasty stuff.

"Yeah," he said. "Wanna see?"

Turns out he keeps a video of some of the nastier stuff(probably for just such an occassion..the guys over his place drinking and playing PSII).....anyway, suicides in cars, dragging bloated bodies out of canals. The worst was the aftermath of two Mexican guys wrapping around a phone pole at 110mph in a Mustang. It took a male and female paramedic all their strength to grab hold of one of the dude's Nikes and his baggy jean pant leg and...pull the leg out of a twist of metal....if you've ever picked hot cheese off a pizza, that's what came along with the end of the leg.

I said to him "Oh my god! Is it me or are the paramedics smiling, acting like its no big deal? That's not right."

But he said they had to do that. They had to treat it as another day on the job and detatch, because if they actually thought about what they were doing they'd go insane in a week.

Amen to that. Those people are a special breed. No way in hell I could ever do that.

Yeah I've seen some of them. It's pretty nasty stuff. I feel pretty sick that I actually watch them...but as other people have said...I guess it's just curiousity and human nature.

I totally agree. I'm not faint hearted and I don't easily get scared of freaked, but doing that day in and day out as a career deserves respect.

I've seen a couple of those videos, and I have definite doubts about the authenticity of much of the material.

Totally disgusting exploitation movies!
Made quite a scandal when they were published in Germany about 20 years ago, when the DA threatened to confiscate the copies, the makers had to admit it's mostly fake, mixed up with a few TV flicks about freak accidents.
In all, repeat, totally disgusting, and that goes for the motivation of the makers, too!!

I know it's only VfB but I like it!

Someone showed me one on a computer once...it was a man who got out of his car at a Safari to get photos of a tiger and getting mauled and eaten while his family watched. It made me feel sick and still makes me feel awful when I think of it. I have no idea what kind of person put these clips together, what person buys them and what person can sit there and watch clip after clip of people dying. It's disgusting.

To everyone...

Even the creators of Faces of Death admits that movie is faked. Only a few parts of it are true, somewhere there was a list which. However the monkey eating, aligator attacks aren't real, as well as most of others. Please buy or watch movie "Making of Faces of Death" to see how these scenes were filmed.

There are some movies where real scenes of people dying are presented, but there are few of them, and most are faked. Faked films includes "Faces of Gore". "Traces of Death", other clone of "Faces of Death" is partly faked also although it includes some real scenes, but mostly aftermaths of disasters. There are also movies "Executions" and "Death Photos" (not sure about the name). Latter one is real, but it just shows old black/and white photos of already died people with narrating.

On the other hand there is series of short movies "Guinea Pig" (original name (Japanese): "Za Ginipigu"), which are specially made to gross people out. Some are realistic (the first one includes gang kidnapping and tortuing a girl and pinning her eyeball in the end), some are not (like one with man who finds mermaid in sewers and when it is not in water it (mermaid's section bellow thalia) starts bleeding with some yellow puss and the guy who taken mermaid (he is artist) starts to se the puss as paint).

Please note that killing a person just to make film is illegal by US (and most other world) laws, thus you most likely won't find such film. These films, so called "snuff films" are just a popular urban legend.

I haven't seen any videos of the sort, but in October last year there was a car crash outside my house. I raced round to where it had happened (I have had some basic first aid training, so I went to see if I could help). 2 occupants in one of the cars weren't wearing seatbelts.

I went round to find a girl hanging out of the passenger window with blood pouring from her face, but still concious. The man (who was the driver), was sprawled across the dash, unconscious and bearly breathing. He had blood coming out of his nose. We kept talking to him in case he could hear. Anyway, the po;lice and paramedics arrived, and decided they had to get him out quickly. I helped by holind his head as still as I could while they got him out of the drivers side door. Blood from his ear fell out onto my hands, and I could feel bones moving (his jaw I think) as he was moved.

Anyway, they were doing trying to get his heart going, I offered my help and was "breathing" for him by using the bag+tube in his mouth, but sadly he died.

Naturally I didn't sleep very well that night. It turned out his name was David and only 26. Younger than me, and his life extinguished by not wearing a seatbelt.

Anyone who reads this and regularly drives without a seatbelt please PLEASE think again, as it the accident was caused by the other driver.

Supposedly, there have been no actual snuff films made, I saw a documentry on the history of Pornography on Showtime, and the FBI launched a major investigation into the allegation that people were really being killed...turned out it was all just a big hoax.
