Shame on you. Prayer is a sacred act. I suggested deletion of the entire thread earlier, but you were in time to insult once more the faith or over 1,2 billion people. And, funny thing, we are the ones who consider ourselves civilized and call the others "backward".

Shame on you once again

I'm sure you'd laughing if it was a Jewish or Christian joke.  Yeah sure

Jcs, how you are sure? Do you know me? Were we together in the army service? Did we attend a pro-war march together? Did I happen to walk out of your kindergarden yesterday? Well, don't be sure for anything.

I would say the same if it was a rabbi, an orthodox priest, a catholic priest or whatever.

Some things are simply too difficult for you to understand. Like respect on other people's faith for example.

And never tell me how sure you are or what I would do. Never.

If this is true I respect your opinion ... but unfortunately many people are not like that.

Well, in planet earth, where I live, a joke can many times be offensive. You cannot post anything you like by simply saying "It's a joke". When something it's offending, it's offending, joking or not.

But Ovelix - how is it offensive? It isn't saying anything bad about Muslims - it is simply highlighting an amusing photo. Maybe if some Muslims on this thread say they are offended, fine, but as you are not a Muslim you cannot speak for them. Capish?

Excuse me? Gag me then. How civilized you are!

Why can't I? Prayer is a sacred act whoever practices it. I will make it more easy for you by saying that I am an atheist. Yet I find it highly disrespectful of your side to not only insist that the photo is not offensive but to deny me the right to defend my opinion.

I 'd also like to congratulate all those who gave the original post a 4 star rating. I am proud to be part of this forum.  Pissed

It is insensitive and although i'm very much a joker- Jokes has its boundaries. Well you when too far. I've lost all my respect for you and i think this thread should be deleleted immediately as its very much offensive.

Okay, I admit having laughed a bit, but in this case, I completely agree with Ovelix.

I am a catholic, and I find this 'humour' completely out of place. I wouldn't like seeing the same joke applied to Catholics (or Christians in general, or Jews...), it is just a proof of disrespect.

As Ovelix said, prayer is a sacred act. It is for Muslims, it is for Christians. If it is not for you, please respect it.

Okay, and now to lighten a bit, here is a joke about religion I like, because it doesn't attack the sacred aspect of it :

A Catholic priest and a rabbi were walking on a street when they saw a young boy.
"Come on, : said the priest. "Let's screw him"
"Okay, " said the rabbi "but out of what"

A couple thoughts...

First, although it is quite a amusing photo the person who made it was a bit heavy on the "blur" in Photoshop (or their program of choice)

Second, "And, funny thing, we are the ones who consider ourselves civilized and call the others "backward". Why am a getting a strong 1936-1945 vibe hear?? also "Backward" ??? interesting considering the suject of the photo>

All of my points/comments are coming from a Catholic who can laugh at the best Priest jokes..
...did you hear the one about how a can of dropped Coke and a Preist are similar ????

Yours,
IHadAPheo

Independently of the fact that the picture posted may be somehow offensive to some, although I look at it as being offensive, I must say:

There is something called freedom, free speech, and freedom of opinion. Even If I think the picture may be offensive, and I do, nobody, and I mean nobody has the right to delete it, just because He or She thinks it is offensive.

(Not having the right to delete the thread does not mean one doesn't have the right to suggest it's deletion).

Where would this world be, if we started establishing censorship just like this ?

We would start by deleting threads.
Maybe, banning the author.
What about arresting the author.
Banning people that accepted the post might be an idea.
What about killing the author of the thread - In this way he would sin no more.
Where will we stop ?

The second most important thing given by God to man, was freedom, attacking that freedom, which is a God given right, is going against the laws of that same God.

So, now it's unconstitutional to ask for a little respect. OK, I rest my case.

Ual747, watch your language when talking to me. Ryan why don't you just try to answer to Herman now as he is directly offended. A "capish" to him won't do the job for you.
