I guess the outcome of this would be:

I SURRENDER.

SIGNED,
FRENCH SOLDIER

Dear Dad,

A funny thing happened to me yesterday at Camp Bondsteel (Bosnia): A French army officer walked up to me in the PX, and told me he thought we (Americans) were a bunch of cowboys and were going to provoke a war in Iraq. He said if such a thing happens, we wouldn't be able to count on the support of France. I told him that it didn't surprise me. Since we had come to France's rescue in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, and the Cold War, their ingratitude and jealousy was due to surface (again) at some point in the near future anyway.

I also told him that is why France is a third-rate military power with a socialist economy and a bunch of pansies for soldiers. I additionally told him that America, being a nation of deeds and action, not words, would do whatever it had to do, and France's support, if it ever came, was only for show anyway. Just like in All NATO exercises, the US would shoulder 85% of the burden, and provide 85% of the support, as evidenced by the fact that this French officer was shopping in the American PX, and not the other way around.

Well, he began to get belligerent at that point and I told him if he would like to, I would meet him outside in front of the Burger King and whip his ass in front of the entire Multi-National Brigade East, thus demonstrating that even the smallest American had more fight than the average Frenchman. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Dad, please tell Mom I love her.

Your loving daughter

Mary Beth Johnson LtCol., USMC

Oh yeah you're right. France is evil. French people are stupid people, besides they eat poor frogs all day long, they put their hands in the air as soon as they see a foreigner, French women don't shave, French people smell cheese, they eat snails too, they're all anti-american, they hate Mc Donald's, they love Saddam Hussein too (someone told me that Jacques Chirac, this stupid French president, has a big picture of Saddam in his room). France always surrender. They're arrogant too, they're jealous of all the other countries because France sucks. Did you know that they clear the wine with bovine blood ? That's scary OMG !
French are antisemit, they want to burn all the synagogues. They're so stupid !
I hate France, I hate French people, and all I know is that I'm a very intelligent and risponsible person writing this.

You have issues. They are not all those things you said. Only a couple.

Any point to this thread??? Except of course for the traditional 'let's throw around some stereotypes about the French and expect anyone to take us seriously'?

Very poor thread indeed.

Scorpio, this isnt a stereotype. This is fact. I am surprised you would answer one of my posts anyhow, you know, because I called you an Anti American in the past. I was enjoying the 'No-Scorpio' scene.

To Maiznblu_757:

Read http://europe.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/africa/09/25/ivory.coast/

When a country has got a strong drive to achieve its goals by "showing off"
like the US has done, than that nation does need a strong military force.

When a nation prefers to do the utmost to avoid a war and with that any unevitable future WORLD-WIDE terrorism, than that nation deserves our greatest respect. Peace-keeping is done by talking, not by showing off how big your b@lls are!

What country fits in this category? Most of Europe is busy letting Saddam slide through the UN resolutions.

Bunch of pussies, period. Next time a dictator comes thundering into Paris and takes over your city and country (sound familiar?), don't come callin' Mother Green and her fightin' machine.

Diplomacy can only be effective to a point...It doesn't work with dictators like Saddam who do not want to cooperate, never has, never will. The sad thing is, some of you people are stupid enough to believe that he is the victim. If the U.S. had 100% concrete evidence (and we do) that Saddam is guilty as accused, you still would be flapping your lips about something. Do you really think the U.S. government is going to reveal our best intelligence? How stupid can you be?

The U.S. doesn't pick fights, we finish them.

I know it because I read exactly the same letter on the forum of a military site a few months ago. The guy who posted this letter said he was an american soldier in Kosovo... bla bla bla.

Anyhow, It is fake, EGGD... Tell your mum to make you a peanut butter cookie because you got that right.
Dont forget to brush either, you know that sweets have a worse affect on your teeth.

It was pretty funny. The truth is France is giving Iraq more time to get rid of the very weapons that France themselves sold to Iraq. Tell Chirac not to worry, it wouldnt surprise us, being France and all.

Well, I'm Franch and I take a shower every morning, sometimes one in the evening, and I brush my teeth twice a day, unlike most people I know, and I hate Frogs and cheese. Additionaly, I think the position of the French government on the Iraq issue is just giving Saddam a way out, and that doing it a la Charles Falk would have worked much better, although its too late for that.
