Which one is better, everybody knows which one i will pick, ok not everyone. S500 no doubt. But Which one do you like, And just to let ya know, the reason i listed the L an Li is because the S Class is only sold in its long wheelbase version in the U.S. (S500V). So which one do you think is better. The 745 has too confusing of a system for me to figure out. And the A8 is too boring. S Class has an evil look to it when its coming from the front, and classy from the back, and the cabin is also classy. What do you think?

Personally, I think the BMW is the superior car. Probably because I drive a BMW, but to me the BMW seems to be more of a "driving machine" (Sorry to borrow from the slogan), and the Mercedes seems to be a little more delicate. I guess it's all in what you are looking for. BMW for me though. We've had a few of them too. 850Ci, 750Li, Z3, and currently my dad has the X5 4.6 and I have the 330ci convertible. That X5 will kick some ass though!

I would take the A8L. To me it is just as good as the others, with an amazing interior, and has less to prove. I love subtlety, elegance and purpose in a car and Audi shines in that regard.
Here is a picture of the A8's interior:
The Phaeton also have a beautiful interior:

American 757- you and I both have the same dream car- I want mine to be gloss black- what about you?
Check this-
There was a newer S500 model limosine that sold on Ebay for somewhere around $38K, I believe- can't find any pix. I don't like the white though...

BMW ANYDAY.
MB is so delicate and pretencious. I drive a 95 M5, and I don't beat around the bush driving that thing fast. I raced a E55 AMG the other day and he got smoked, and mine doesn't have a supercharger (Im working on it though, only 6 grand!). Audi makes great cars, but second rate to MB and BMW. But, I do like Audi styling.
BTW, there is no such thing as a 754Li. The are as follows: 745i, 745il, and 760iL (V12). The 750iL is dead as of 2002 and the 8 series hasn't been produced since 98 I believe.
And what the heck is some little 13-15 year old doing selling MB? Something's fishy there. My dad just got a 2003 M5 by the way, and you can bring it in any of your MB.

Thats a shame for your dad.
The 2003 E55 AMG with 476 bhp will (516 ft lb of torque) will leave the M5 in the dust with only 395 bhp. (turbocharger or not) What a pitty.
The are as follows: 745i, 745il, and 760iL (V12).
Well, according to the BMW website there is the 745i, 745Li, and 760Li. I tend to beleive the website over yourself.

M5 is ugly, no offence, but the mirrors bother me, i would take an amg except for the fact most of the time they have the ventilated seats, which means that here are tiny little holes or something in the leather for the fans to suck the warm air out through, anyways i hate those wholes, they are ugly,i would rather have the charcoal nappa leather

As someone who is been and driven pretty much all the cars in discussion here, i would first of all say that i would definately take the S500 sport even though i would be extremely tempted to go with the 745i since the BMW is soooo new relatively. The S-class with the AMG wheels and bumpers looks amazingg...American757 FYI there is a long wheel base version of the S-class that was introduced to USA this year and it is known as S500L...i have been in one of those. The standard S class that comes in USA is NOT the long wheel base as you are thinking.
Zeus01......i dont think the guy in the E55 took you seriously or either he did not know how do drive....E55 AMG is fractionally slower then the current M5 so i dont understand how could a '95 M5 smoke an E55!!?? However if one wants to compare the current M5 to E55(1998-2002) then no doubt the M5 is a superior car in nearly all aspects....much much superior infact (i'm a die hard mercedes fan by the way)...but the new 2003 onwards E55 with 470-odd horsepower will probably change all that..what a car that is.....Audi and Volkswagen, although great cars, do not fall into the same league you know..
Sadly when i got my car this past fall i choose neither Merc or BMW....i fell for the Jaguar S type V8.... thats my baby for now.
But the car that would blow away everything that is here twice...has to be the Mercedes CL55 AMG with 493 bhp....not only of my favorite cars but it the perfect blend of luxury and performace.

Hmm, I don´t know.
Driving these cars in the US is like being married to a supermodel when one is impotent; in other words a complete waste of resources.
I don´t own a car, but when I drive one it´s an 01 E240. Does 145 mph, and legally that is. Understatement is en vogue, guys.

I've never sat in one, but just from the looks of both the interior and exterior, and the equipment, I'd take an A8, second would be the 745 in a dark color (they don't look good in bright colors imho).
Airsicknessbag, it probably makes more sense in the US to buy a comfortable luxury sedan than a sports car, so at least you're seated very comfy while you crawl around on the roads. But I agree, owning such a car and then being not allowed to use it properly (FAST ) would drive me crazy. Long live the unlimited Autobahn

actually, im pretty sure about the S500V, i have been in both the short and long, because when i was in canada we rode in one, it was so much smaller than my friends S500, im gonna check about the S500L , i have never even heard of it, anyways, maybe your right, but all i know is that when i was reading some mb papers, it said that because most of the previous s class generation sales were long wheel base they decided to go all long wheel base for the us, but in canada they offer the S430 in both short and long, im not sure where you got that l from but i will check for myself.

Actually, the only MB I would own is the magnificient S500. Nothing else comes close when talking about full size German luxautos. I am a BMW man. My new car is a BMW-certified 2000 528iA Sport, Biarritz blue over sand leather, steptronic tranny, moonroof, 17 inch rims, DSC, DSP. I will keep it for many years.
The current 5 series is a stunning design, and is the last "classic" BMW design we shall see.

I'll take all three and the Phaeton! Seriously, though if I had to choose it would be between the Phaeton and the A8L. I hate the new BMW design, it looks absolutely awful, although the it is probably the best engineered from the group. Driving an S-class is like driving a tank, they are truly boring cars.

Hello,
if I have to choose, I would go for A8L. Honestly, if you have funds, and need to pick from these three, you can't go wrong. These 3 cars are just perfect. But, my preference is for the A8L '03 (04??) model off course.
Also, I will rather buy Audi RS6 than all of these models above. It is slightly cheaper, and has equal if not better performances. THe E55 AMG is not far behin as well. But M5 is way back there. I honestly do not the design of that car.
BTW, UAL747. If you by any chance come over to NJ, call me and give me ride in urs BMW330I
That's all,

Lets get a few things straight---
My M5 is not stock. Its "riced" German style. I get all my parts through Dinan, Shinitzer and Bavarian Auto Sport. The onlything it doens't have is a supercharger.
Bilstein sport struts, eibach springs and sway bars, schintzer 18 inch rims, Pfirelli p-600, Brembo brakes and calipers, forced exhaust headers, TURNER performance chip, KN cold air intake, short shift, perfor fly wheel, performance cam shaft, fuel pressure regualtor, etc etc etc. The list goes on.
My dads M5 produces 497 horses by the way. It is also not a stock M5, it has modifications. And that is what I raced that E55 in, it wasn't brand new, maybe a 2001 or so. Never underestimate M power. The issue I have is that MB can't seem to produce a true high HP car w/o a supercharger or turbo (which prematurley ruins your engine). I really like AMG cars, and MB styling (except new c-class, yuck).
Way to go stretch on your new 528. Amazing, isn't it? I perosnally am not super fond of the new M5 styling, I like my classic look better. And the redesigned 5 series is going to be as controversial as the new 7 series.
You think a RS6 is going to beat a M5 just like that? Ha. One, RS6's are very rare. Two, you have to deal w/ Audi reliability (not exactly par w/ BMW, MB) and their "engineering", Three isn't that a turbo car??????????

You have got to be kidding me. If I brought 100,00 into the dealer that you supposedly work for, and you came up to me with your sqeaky little voice and asked if I wanted assistance, I would laugh at you. Thats why you don't sell cars, not because your boss doesn't need you to. Give me a break, go earn your sense of self worth somewhere else, not with lies on A.net.
BTW, perhaps you should lay off on the MB posts, its getting old, your like that freak who posted about how 777's are better than A330's 8 times.

The 6 is coming back, and will be shown this year. I've seen spy pictures of that car, and it seems promissing so far. Also, the new 5 is supposed to be toned down from what it was originally to be like. There are a lot of pissed off people at BMW regarding the styling of the 7 series. Apparantly, Bangle was told, the 5 better be good, or you're gone.
