Can you beleive it? England managed to beat Pakistan by 112 runs?

After a shaky start by England, we managed to get a total of 246 for 8 from our 50 overs, then obliterated Pakistan, bowling them out for 134 in 31 overs.

We may have a chance for the super sixes yet!

I can! It certainly looks good for the India game which should see them qualify; though I'd like the top 5 to bat better rather than only 1 of them performing and relying upon the all-rounders to get the total up.

Anyway after the comments about out score all I'll say is that it always amazes me that commentators say immediately after the end of the 1st innings whether the score that has been posted is good, bad or indifferent....why not wait and see what the first few overs of the reply are like and then make the judgment.

Shoaib Akhtar as top scorer for Pakistan...wonder what the odds would have been on that occurring. Better ask the ghost of Hansie Cronje  Wink/being sarcastic

If Shoaib Akhtar top scores with 43 then you know you're up shit creek!

Yeah that was no doubt a very good performance by England....congratulations to all england fans......but the truth is had Pakistan won the toss it could have been a totally different story....we all know Pakistan can't chase and when it comes to defending they are pretty much the best....only had they batted first.... ahhh anyways...congrats England once again.....Pakistan has to win all their games now ...

PS: Shoaib...apart from being the best Pak batsman..he broke the world speed record for the fastest ball ......100.3mph!!!!

Shoaib bowls way too quickly for one-day games IMO because the slighest nick equals runs eg the top-edged six today!Different story in tests but today he went for about 7 an over! You need a Wasim type of fast bowler in one-dayers.

Ahem... may I have the honor of reminding you of the pitfalls of counting your chickens before they've hatched. As much as you blokes may like to see yourselves beating us and getting into the Super Six, we all know its not going to happen... oh wait, what was it I just reminded you about ? Big grin

Adg, they used Linford Christie's "ginseng" concoction which avoids detection.

Barfbag, given a choice of beating India or Australia to qualify, I think they choice is simple!
