Someone gave me a CD with a program on it. Everyone else he gave it to has had no problem installing it. When I put it in my CD drive, the drive just tries reading it and doesn't stop. I can't get it to do anything. I've tried 3 or 4 different ways to get it to work. All that happens is my CD drive light keeps blinking, the drive keeps running, and the hard drive light keeps blinking at a constant rate. Any ideas?

Yes they have installed from it. One guy had some trouble, but was able to get it worked out.

If it´s a CD-R or even a CD-RW, your drive might have trouble with that brand of medium (normal pressed CDs are less critical). You might want to try reading the CD in a different PC; If it works there, it might indeed be the CD. If you´ve got a second drive in your computer (a burner, for instance), it might help to try that.

Thanks guys. I'll try and have someone else burn a copy of it and then try the copy.
