I was wondering if there's anyone on this board who is a certified first respondent? I've just finished the training and it was great to learn so many things, especially CPR. If you are then I'd like to know what you think was the toughest during your training? Have you ever had to use your knowledge in real life? Also did you learn procedures like the ABC or SAMPLE for memorizing key action/question?

I have CPR and first aid. It only took a couple of hours, they made us demonstrate on the dummy, then they showed a video and taught us first aid terms, then they made us do the heimlech. Nothing hard at all about it....just maybe remembering it all in an emergency....

I did my first responder training about 7 years ago when I was working for the police and it was mandatory. During my 3 years with the police department, it came in useful on multiple occasions. Had to use CPR twice and have a .500 success rate (saved one, lost one).

I am a reserve police officer, so I had to be certified to do CPR, triage, defib, O2 and some other first aid. I don't know what sort of certification I have besides the CPR and Defib, so I don't know what that would classify me as.
I have never had to use anything but O2 so far and mobilize a broken limb until a paramedic arrived.
