but I heard something today that I must share with you...

Arguing over the internet is like participating in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still a retard.

Just something to think about.  Smile

Long live MPTE. I miss my fans!

See you in 48 hours.

That's a pretty stupid comment. Participating in the Special Olympics is probably one of the things I look up to most. These people are the true heroes in our world. Overcoming the obstacles and difficulties to participate in something that really is meaningful. I think you're the "retard."

i won't say my share of those type of jokes. Very Tasteless, and only funny at 1 am when you're staying up all night.

I don't know If I would call Special Olympic Athletes Heroes! Sure they are participating in Athletics agains people with similar dissabilites....

Being a Special Olympian is not a Hero Status, Period

There are millions of people who overcome other obstacles in life and participate in "Athletics" and they are not Hero's. Why should we call Physically and Mentally Challenged people heroes?

I once heard one of my more crude friends bring this one from the "tasteless jokes" avenue....

Q: What's better than winning the Gold at the Special Olympics?

A: Walking.

LOL Heavymetal Big grin

But seriously: They don't have hero Qualities: sure thier accomplishments make us smile and want to support them all the way to the finish line! But still, Im my mind a hero is more like a Soldier or everyday person who saves a life....Not playing a soccer game or riding a bike...

If riding a bike makes you a hero, then what is a hero? What has happened to the Good ole' Heros?

I saw Jerry Seinfeld say this: "I wonder what the parking situation is at the Special Olympics? Do they only have two spots, or are they all handicap parking?"

Go listen to "Nobodys' hero" by the Canadian band Rush. It's a nice reality check on the loose use of the word.
