I guess it might be time to try to bribe Johan in to letting me update my user name t reflect me latest medical adventure, here's the update....
This past Thursday late afternoon/early evening myself, wifey and our daughter Lizzie meet with my mother to visit my grandmother at the nursing home where she lives. After parking the van I carrying my daughter to the door when I became a bit short of breath and had little "chest tightness". I then left wifey and Lizzie with my mother and was fool enough to drive my self to my workplace the wonderful "Buffalo Mercy Hospital ER".
After a few tests, an EKG, and some blood work (a Troponin, CK-MB etc) the result came back that I was having an MI (non Q wave to be exact) (Heart attack ) This info came back about 30 minutes later and about two hours later I was on my way to my room to await the next mornings Friday) Angiogram, Angioplasty and Stent insertion this was started at about 0730 and the next I remember it was about 1300 and I was back in my room half dazed from the Versed. I was allowed a few visitors until I became a bit sleepy at about 1730. I awoke at about 2200 and quickly fell back asleep until about 0600.
At 0830 I was awoken by the start of the Parade of my Physicians including my Cardiologist who gave me the good and unhappy news that I could go home today. (Who would think an MI one day an Angioplasty the next and home the day after that.) I am home now while wifey is of at the Pharmacy picking up the pile of scripts and it is just about time for a nap for me, The Cardiologist says I'll be out of work 6-8 weeks depending how I do in Cardiac Rehab.
If I awake from my nap I'll check back in later today.
Yours,
(old one)

IHadAPheo,
Get away from the forum then! Some people in here can give a healthy heart an MI!!!
Seriously, get your rest, don't push yourself, and get well soon!

I don't know about that, maybe a pain in the A55 is more like it.

Hello al and thanks for the good thoughts (does this mean that I have a heart with interior by KIA?).I put the details about Pheochromocytoma back in my profile (I took it out to save space for a project I never completed).
I go back to my cardiologist in about two weeks for an followup examine and to set up my cardiac-rehab program and I'm told about 4-6 weeks after that I get to go back to work.
To all out there please take warning signs of a heart attack seriously ( chest pain, jaw pain, left shoulder. left arm pain and shortness of breath. Trust meon this one it is better to be safe than sorry (dead).
I never thought that is could happen to be at age 40, but I hope to makea somewhat full recovery and get back to work and a normal activity level soon. I will have to give up my beloved chicken wins and bleau cheese though.
Yours,
IHadAPheoAndaMI(and now a heart with interior by KIA)
BTW .. Is it true that KROC is the new Iraqi Minister of Information??
