I have to do this simple little 15 minute presentation about something in European History from the dates 1850-present. I want to relate it to aviation but I don't know much about European Aviation so I was wondering if some of you guys could come up with a topic focused on aviation with european relation. Thanks in advance

A.V. Roe's "Avro" aircraft might also be of interest. Blériot was a pioneer, he did the first crossing of the Strait of Calais in an airplane. You could also find interesting things about the British and what they invented for cennecting their empire, maybe highlighting the trip to Oz-land in a Vickers Vimy.

You could argue the point that aviation began in Europe (before eveyone goes off on me, the first time man left the ground was in France in the late 1700's in a balloon.) It is widely known that Lilenthal heavily influenced the Wright Brothers' designs, so there is also that European connection. Also, we owe our modern-day space program to Europeans (von Brown and the rest of the WWII German rocket scientists).
