The R E A L Airliners.Net Pecking Order

Forget about any kind of "pecking order" being established based solely on being a "post whore". Instead, I would like to name, who I feel, are the Top 10 users here at this site, and a brief summary of why I feel the way I do:

1. KROC. Mike here gets pride of place simply because I think he deserves it (even though my toes curl at saying that). He is probably the best known user here. And, of course, he does hold the number 1 spot for number of posts. And unlike way too many other users, he actually always has something useful or at least funny to say.

Signed,
Johan

2. Alpha1. Number two slot in both posts and my list. A wonderful coincidence, by the way. Alpha1, even though him and I don't see eye to eye on many things, and have "gotten into it" on countless occasions, I have to give the guy credit and respect because 1) he knows what he is talking about 2) is very methodical in his posts and 3) stands firm in his beliefs.

3. Superfly. Pimp Daddy extraordinaire. Probably the second most well known person here after KROC. Style and class, and a heck of a nice guy in person (even though him and I couldn't be more dissimilar on our political views). Here is proof that people can sit at opposite ends of the political spectrum and still be friends.

4. Matt D. Well, I HAD to put myself in somewhere. There seems to be no middle ground with me. A ruthless, heartless, closet-gay mysoginist. That's how some people see me. Others seem to see me as one who tells things like they are, regardless of whether or not my statements will offend, or "hurt" others.

5. We're Nuts Although Mr Nuts strikes me as a very angry person, who, in his mind, "progress" would be to trade in our cars for bicycles, he is ever constant and lurking around. He has an opinion on almost everything, even though I never seem to see him say anything positive about anyone or anything. I sometimes wonder if he "really" is involved with Southwest. After all, they are a light hearted fun group. This man strikes me as having the beliefs of Ralph Nader, combined with the acidity of Pat Buchannan and Lyndon LaRouche. Definitely the antithesis to the typical WN folk.

6. 777236ER This guy probably takes even more abuse than I do. But he seems to have a pretty good sense of humor. He gives a lot of shit, but he also takes a lot of shit. Always a prolific poster, usually with some substance. And, of course, he made a modified KIWI Int'l 727 tail with my name on it.

7. MX5_Boy Like 777 above, this guy gives a lot of shit. But he also takes a lot (no pun intended). A valuable contributor to our website from Down Under, and I find myself wondering if he really wants to "hook up" when he lands here in SoCal.

8. Heavymetal Probably the most level headed user we have here. I always admire his well thought out and methodical posts. I agree with so much of what he says. No garbage from this guy. What he types is ALWAYS worth reading.

9. Cfalk If I were to have to pick one user whose beliefs most closely mirror mine, I would have to pick Charles. The only reason you will almost never see him and I commenting on the same thing is because I feel it would be a duplicate post.

And last, but not least:

10. MD-90. Not one you would think is one of the "top 10". But I admire this users beliefs, many of which mirror mine. He's not one of the most prolific posters either. But when he does, he's always articulate, well thought out, and most important-respectful. Yet he can hold his ground pretty darn well.

Haha. I would have to agree for the most part with your list and takes Matt. God, that kills me to say that too.

In all due fairness though, Mr. L-188 has eclipsed me as the all time post leader, and that 'title' is now his.

Oh, and you nailed Superfly right on the head. On the boards we hardly get along (unless talking about a nice thick woman), and politically we are far apart in our views, but in person, my man is a great guy!

In all fairness, I brose this site during work, so I am paid to be here.

It is kind of like Olympic Vs. Professional athletes.

Here's my list:

1. B747437B-As knowledgable a guy as I've ever met. We don't always agree, but he's always eloquent in what he says.

2. JetService-Unfailing logical, even if I clash heads with him on domestic issues sometime.

3. KROC-The "smartass" of the forum. I think he's funner than hell, and he's honest to a fault on here.

4. CFalk-A breath of fresh air from the other side of the pond, IMHO. Like JetService, he's unfailing logical and honest in what he says.

5. Heavymetal-Should be a speechwriter for someone in politics. I don't think Bush will be asking  Big grin One of the voices that are the conscience of A.net

6. L-188-Yeah, he and I always seem to butt heads on here, since our views on politics are so different, but he doesn't stoop to low blows like som others.

7. We're Nuts-Drives me nuts (no pun intended), but he may be the most honest member on here.

8. DCA-ROCguy-I haven't run in to him much lately, but I always enjoyed debating him about the Bix Six carriers, which we're completly at odds with.

9. Scorpio-We almost never agree, but he's as true to his beliefs as anyone on here.

10. ADG-Like Scorpio, we hardly ever agree, but lately-and despite her recent attempt at flooding the Non-Av forum  Big grin she's shown me a lot more recently in substance in her posts, and she doesn't back down to anyone on here-not even Glenn  Laugh out loud

Wow I can't believe that I'd be on anyone's top 10 list. But you know, I do hold the record for the thread with the most views. http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/336291/

Now, if only I was a little more THOUGHTFUL about what I say sometimes...

But thanks, MattD, these forums have changed a lot over the years, just have to roll with the punches.

AA61hvy - I have been lucky enough that most of my posting time on A.net comes while I am at work. From way back when I first started posting while in the Air Force, to my current 2 jobs now, all allow me access to the net, and when the work load is low, lots of time to 'surf'. When I'm on my own time, I do "go outside or something". Like I say, don't be mad at me because I racked up a high post count, while getting paid.

ROFL .. well thanks for the addition Alpha1, but I don't think I play any part in the "pecking order" at all .. it's just a nice place to hang out from time to time (ie, right now i'm waiting for a response from vendor support so i'm just hanging at my desk reading the forums).

I'd not count myself in the top 50, let alone the top 10.

Thanks for the mention, Alpha. You know, despite our little spats now and then, you are one of my favorite folks here. Which raises the question of why you aren't on my respected user list... I think I'll remedy that oversight now.

Now I don't think I am angry or bitter. After I went on hiatus a while back, one of the things I promised myself to never do when I returned was bullshit, and I don't think I do. If you are being a dumbass, you bet I'm going to tell you about it. And any anger that doesn't fall under that category is just me trying to play devil's advocate. Ask for my phone number sometime, you'll learn I'm not a total psycho.

Oh, and Jcs, you are on one of my lists too.  Big grin
