Since we've had all these recent post about Texas, and since the Supreme Court is hearing a case on this subject, I recently read this! IS THIS TRUE????!!!!!!
There is no law against beastiality, but there is a law specifically outlawing anal sex between two men!
So, it's OK to stick your weiner up a dog's butt, but not a consenting male's anal passage.

You got that right.
Prior to 1974, oral and anal sex was illegal for all Texans, but after the criminal code was revised in 1974, heterosexual couples were written out of the law, leaving sodomy illegal only for gays and lesbians. Strangely enough, the 1974 revision removed criminal penalties on private bestiality. As the law now stands, a gay man or woman can have legal sex with an animal, but not with his or her life partner. Straights can have legal sex with each other - and animals.
Puts bull riding and saddle bronc riding in a whole different perspective, doesn't it?

Honest officer, I was just helping the sheep over the fence.
Many US states have, or just very recently had, many of these old morality laws on the books banning felatio, sodomy, and just about anything else other than missionary with your common law wife. Constitutionality aside, the government does not belong in consenting adults bedrooms... plain and simple.

What you may anticipate is that the legislature will avoid- like the plague- the controversial step of any cvhanges to the sodomy law, relying instead on eth Supreme Court to do the "heavy lifting" by ruling the law unconstitutional. Thus, they avoid having to do anything at all (typical for our legislature).
By the way, mosty states still have sodomy laws of one sort or another... don't act as it Texas is an outpost on this deal.

Mxctrlr, if that's the case, then God help the Bush girls, because they're supposedly the genetic result of an alcoholic and a not-so-attractive woman. That "creation" you're talking, in Chelsea Clitnon, graduated with honors and is earning $100,000 a year.

Here's a hint for you, Alpha....

If you have anal sex with a male dog, isn't that still homosexuality? I'm not sure but I don't think homosexuality has anything to do with species. Just sexual orientation.
So...it may not be legal to screw your dog in texas...unless its name is Lassie..

Well, well. Is it possible for someone who cannot possibly think on his own to agree with someone who possesses that mighty ability, to actually agree on one small point? No, I must be just kissing Alpha's liberal ass now because I agree with you on one point. I agree the kids are a joke (however, I also agree that every kid who has inhabited the White House since Amy Carter, has been a joke!) The Bible Belt is soooo fucked up.
Always beware when the Bible-thumpers come to call! I've had my fill of those who act so pious and holy, and then trash you and stab you in the back when you're not looking. Some of the most wild, kinky, back-stabbing, gossiping people I've ever met, were bible-thumping "Christians"! I have absolutely no use for 99.9% of them. Those that truly believe, and back that belief up with their actions and lifestyle, I have respect for (I don't necessarily agree with them, but I do respect them). The rest are just trailer-trash!

MxCtrlr, I suggest you rethink the "99.9%" of those who claim to be Christian as being "worthless". There is a big difference in claiming and actually being one. Oh, and the reason you notice hypocrisy and back stabbing from those who claim to be Christians is because by claiming such, they should act better. You don't notice it from non-Christians because such behavior is normal for those without any morality.
Oh and Nutsy, if you think that most of America is screwed up, then you should hear what many people think of those who live on the Left Coast.

I am not saying that jut because you claim to be a Christian, you are trailer-trash. No, I am saying that those who claim to be Christian and then act in a manner that goes outside the Bible they thump, are trailer-trash. That is not a position I would back down from. Hippocrites, be they Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc, I have no time for!

The "bible belt" is a vernacular region so it's boundaries differ depending on who you talk to. The only way to come up with boundaries is to take surveys of people in the region and ask the question "Do you live in the bible belt?" then map the percentages.
As an aside, I would be curious to see how many people were actually prosecuted for this law in Texas over the past 10 years. It's probably just sitting idle on the books, otherwise someone would've challenged it and taken it to the supreme court a long time ago, where it likely would've been overturned.
