Boycot the guy who sang 'Born in the USA' because he's not goose stepping behind President Hopalong? Gotcha.

Isn't this beginning to remind many of you a lot of what Joe McCarthy did back in the 50's: if you don't agree with us 100%, we'll smear your good name, we'll call you unpatriotic; we'll make your life fucking miserable, because you don't think we're right.

There will be a boomerang effect someday for such mindless, senseless "patriotism policing".

If they want, they can add my name to that list. I'd be proud to have my name put among those who think for themselves, and don't kiss the ass of one George W. Bush.

Why am I so surprised at the nature of this post???

Why am I surprised that those same people who post this crap are also the first to complain about 'anti-Americans'????

I see your point Alpha 1 however the 'creator' of this site was interviewed on FOXNEWS this morning. He said that these celebrities have EVERYRIGHT to critize our government and leaders however he has EVERYRIGHT as well to critize them.

I agree, if anyone wants to disagree and critize our government they have everyright to and I hope that they speak freely. However that gives anyone the right to oppose their views and call them whatever we want to as well. I wouldn't relate it to what McCarthy did at all. McCarthy was a true wackjob who even went after Marshall.

Critisize is fine. But this is starting to go beyond critisizing. He's compiling a list of people he thinks are Unpatriotic, because they didn't support an Armed Conflict. They don't see the world in the same, delusional way as George Bush, so, in the minds of people like this fruitcake, they should be PUNISHED!! That's what this is boiling down to. People like B757300, Jcs17, MD90, Apathoid, and the other knee-jerk righties on here don't care to just point out disagreement, they want everyone who doesn't Goose-step to George and his Merry Band of Thugs to be punished and labled for their "crimes". That's what all this nonsense is leading to.

It'll end up the same way as McCarthyism: a sad, sour, bitter footnote of history.

And these fucking cowards won't even identify themselves. Some balls they have.

And, as you can see, it's a "blacklist", just like Old Joe McCarthy had back in the 50's.

Some GOP staples die hard, don't they?

McCarthy was pointing out an evil that was going on back then. He was overzealous and did cause harm to innocent people, which was wrong, but he did serve a useful purpose.

This website is not McCarthyistic.

Ok, then I'd also like to state that Jennifer Aniston, also featured on the website, is hot, hot, hot.

Sarandon ain't to bad for an old lady.

And I think Natalie Maines is alright looking, but she's been wearing to much eye makeup lately.

And nobody is being punished, Alpha 1. Just because that's what you would do if you were in power doesn't mean that's going on.

Actors have a right to say dumb things, but people also have a right to create websites like famousidiot.com and make fun of them. That isn't blacklisting.

Read what they're saying on these websites, MD90. They are doing more than making fun of them. If you can't see that, then I can't help you.

People have a right to pile up mountains of books they don't agree with and set fire to them, too.

Just because it's called ' a right ' doesn't make it so.

There are several people in the US and the rest of the world deserving much more criticism than any of these actors. Bush comes to mind.....

And he just may be "boycotted" at the next election. If I could vote in the US I certainly would....

What's hysterical, is seeing all my conservative friends lable me as liberal on here. Obviously, they don't recall that I was one of the staunchest supporters of Bush following 9/11 on here, from what I saw as a lot of terrorist sympathizing going on on this board. I agreed then, and still agree now, with the invasion of Afghanistan. I felt, up until about 8 months ago or so, that Bush had done a decent job. I don't anymore.

But now I don't agree with the war; I don't agree with his handling of the economy; I don't agree with him allowing Ashcroft to whittle away at the Bill of Rights, and when I think those who support Bush, and his policies that I think are taking this country to hell in a handbasket are wrong, and I say so, now I'm the evil liberal.  Laugh out loud

Again, I would have loved to see how our conservative friends would have acted if the exact same events would have unfolded if Clinton or Gore were in office instead of Bush. Care to guess at the response?

Well I do find it ironic that Sarandon is pissed that everybody is boycotting her and Timmy because of what they said on their shows.

But.......

As was pointed out on one of the sites.

She lead a boycott drive of Dr. Laura's radio show because of what was said on it.

DOUBLE STANDARD ALERT!!!

If that's what was pointed out, El, you've been successfully bullshitted.

I'm gay and in radio, and couldn't help but follow the Dr. Laura boycott saga. The ENTIRE action was coordinated by a website, stopdrlaura.com, with some help from GLAAD (the gay anti-defamation group).

I can say for sure Suzie didn't chime in at some point, I dont remember. But I can give you 100 percent assurance she "led" nothing.

Personally, I don't have time to worry about what actors tell me (probably because I'm too busy reading an internet forum). I certainly wouldn't bother worrying about who should be boycotted, and for what.

MD90, McCarthy did nothing to communism. In the '80s, a KGB employee named Mitrohkin, who had years before become disenfranchised, and had been keeping meticulous notes on KGB operatives and operations, defected to the US. From his notes, we learned that, While McCarthy was spewing, there was not a single KGB operation underway in the US. There was oly the legal rezident.
