Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. When Will It Be Open?

Hi everyone.

In 1998, Hyatt International has stated in its magazine saying that they were going to have a Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur in 1999.

However, till now, the building hasn't been completed and is still lying there doing nothing. It is 90% done only.

Does anyone know why? Will it be open eventually or will the plan be scrapped?

Any idea on this?

Go to: http://www.hyatt.com/explore_hyatt/press_releases/asiagrowth.html

It says the hotel will be open in 2002.

Thank's so much. I been doing this search for like a few hundred times. I even contacted the Public Relations Department but they have no idea when they are going to have it open and done.

Once apon a time, they said they are going to open it in 1999.

Thank You so much.

Best Regards:

I would like to know whether GRAND HYATT or PARK HYATT is the top line of Hyatt International. Thanks

I often stay at both. And I think Park Hyatt is more quiet as well as exclusive while Grand Hyatt is more luxurious as well as classy. What do you guys think?

Something I would like to add in.

I have just recieved an e-mail from Hyatt International, saying that the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur PRoject has been stopped. That was an old press release I am afraid.

>Dear Desmond:
>Thank you for your interest in Hyatt International.
>This project was stopped nearly two years ago and is not on our active list. We are not an investor in the project, and at this point do not have any expectation as to if or when the project will be restarted.
>It is with much regret that I bring you this news. Please let me know if I may assist you with an alternate Hyatt location.

This is going to be very inconvenient for me as everytime I stay in a hotel elsewhere, I choose Grand Hyatt as my first choice.

Do you guys think the project will restart some day?

Hope to hear from you guys soon!
