Took a trip to SIN in 1998 and at BKK - I saw a China Airlines 744 taxiing towards the runway on its way to HKG. That's when I thought "Wow.. that livery looks nice!" - so when I got home, I went to Yahoo and did a search for "China Airlines Photos" - and the rest is history  Smile

Needed to find some airliner pictures for a school project at the end of 9th grade (May of 2000), and a search on a search engine (I forget which one) turned up airliners.net

About 2-3 years ago, I typed in "Airplane pictures" into a search engine because I was bored.

I'm glad I did!

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

I discovered the site in 1999 after being told about it by a coworker back when I worked @ AirTran. Mainly looked at the photos the first 18 months before I finally joined the Forums.

Back in 1999, bored with school. Probably sitting in the computer lab, typing in "airplane pictures" into a search engine, Most likely Yahoo. Came across A.net and clicked the link....

Spent the first couple years just looking at the photos never bothering to Click "discussion forums" Then, around early 2001, began reading into the forums and like them, then on Nov. 8 2001, signed up as a user...

The best site in the internet I know of now....

Saw this commercial on a flightsim site once, the site is no more I think, but it was about the introduction of those postcard things, and I saw one of the postcards and there was a small sign in the right hand corner that said: www.airliners.net and I just had to check it out!

Joined this forum thing a bit later, because I had to ask something, which I don't remember Big grin but it's well over three years ago  Smile

Searched for "US Airways A330 Pictures" on Yahoo!. Found the site, started exploring, and the rest is history.

I found the site at the end of 2000 or start of 2001, and looked through the database mostly. (I remember talking with a girl I liked on MSN in 3/01 while looking up TW L-1011 pics, so it was at least then....amazing how I remember things like that!) I wasn't really interested in the forums until I actually looked in them & wanted to join. Did so on 9/1/01, just in time to talk about what would happen 10 days later...
