AIRLINERS.NET CREW FORUM MODERATOR
First of all, this topic is fully ironical.
A question especially to germans and those who knew the habits in the DDR (GDR): Dont you think that waht we have here in the non av forum in a funny way can be compared to what the Stasi did in the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (GDR)?
I mean, in both systems (DDR and non-av forum) you had to take strong precautions on what to say, agains and to whom you say anything or how you express yourself in general. In both systems you could end up very bad when you say the wrong thing .. or in the wrong way.
Just thought that these simmilarities are quiet funny. Off course, no offense ment to any moderator or crew staff .. it's just the overall feeling
don't take it too serious

I know, everyone's a little bit more timid. I don't mind, the excesses we are curbing are the aggressive attacks on other contributors, if there is less of that (I have been guilty in the past) then it'll be a better forum. We're all here cos we love aviation so we should be more courteous. I must say I was horrified by the shutdown of non-av, it's nearly as good as the main av forum, and a good place to let off steam and keep the main av forum clear for just talking about aeroplanes and not politics (current EK thread notwithstanding).

AIRLINERS.NET CREW SITE ADMIN
Although "ironical", I do not appreciate the comparison. This is a private website and as editor I am responsible for all that's said in here. I've said it countless times before and I'll say it again: There's no such thing as "Freedom of Speech" here. I am not required by law or by some constitution or by taxpayers to keep the Non-aviation forum open.
Sorry for being such a dull but I do not consider this funny.
Working on the site from morning 'till night that's livin' alright (1997-2007)
