No, this isn't a topic about baseball. It's another topic about something else that gets discussed a lot on this board. Only I want to approach it from a somewhat different angle.
As to whether or not it's an inborn versus decided thing, or whether or not it's morally right or wrong, I'm not even going to get into.
Just answer me this one question and add whatever relevant comments you have.
Do you think that a woman who:
Stood less than 10 feet away and witnessed her father kill her mother
Had to bury her younger brother because he died of a brain embolism
Had to seek medical and pshychological counseling because of an overly demanding and demeaning [male] boss (and later got fired)
Got divorced because her husband became an alcoholic
Went through two more turbulent and ugly dating relationships

I don't think any of those qualifying statements would change someone's sexual preference. Sure they would have a deep impact on the person's personality etc etc, but I can't see how they would change sexual preference. They dont become lesbian just to 'get back at men' or because they are p!ssed off with men. I have that information 1st-hand from a real one.
I'm good friends with a very nice life-long lesbian, here at work.... who is now bi, BTW. he he..

I'm going to try to persuade my grandson to be a switch-hitter. They are so valuable to a manager. The opposition can't bring in a rightie to get him out since he can step across the plate and be a lefty.
I understand there was a pitcher at Harvard this year that could throw 88 mph using his left arm and 92 using his right arm. Were he to face a switch-hitter, it would get frantically confusing in a hurry.

Okay, since she is hot, she won't end up strictly a lesbo, but rather a bisexual domineering S&M Matrix.

She's all yours. I've dealt with enough wacked out chicks. Ya know, Passionate Pam is starting to look better and better all the time: She's always ready and willing. Never crabby or moody. I don't have to take her "out" all the time or buy her anything. I don't have to remember her birthday or our anniversary. There is no seven days to worry about, and when I'm finished, I can roll over and go to sleep without any guilt trips. And when I get tired of her altogether, I can stuff her into the garbage can and never think twice.
God...I am a sick asshole in deperate need of counseling!

You want to talk about wierd, how about Grace-this girl I once met in Fresno who lived in Madera (about 20 minutes north of Fresno)?
True story. She had to be the strangest, flakiest, sluttiest, and most uptight person I've ever known all wrapped into one.
The first day I met her (please don't even ask me to explain that) I ended up taking her home to get a change of clothes. Then we went all the way out to the boonies near Centerville and Sanger where my aunt/uncle lived at the time. She was adamant that she get 'ready' for our night out THERE. Why she couldn't do it at home, who the hell knows. She must've spent a good 90 minutes in the bathroom (locked of course) doing God knows what. Me and the family were wondering what the hell she was doing in there. Was she real slow? Was she getting REALLY dolled up? Was she doing some lines? Did she die in the bathtub?
Finally she came out and we took off. We went out to Fresno (not a whole lot to do up there) and did whatever....I think we cruised up and down Blackstone a couple of times (trying carefully not to be caught b/c Fresno has some very nasty anti "cruising" laws).
Later on, around midnight, she said that she wanted to get "busy". So we drove off out into the sticks, and found a nice very dark spot to park, and we got busy, if you know what I mean.
Well, although she was there for the taking, I couldn't get the job done. Not because I couldn't rise to the occasion. She must've been a virgin (or maybe it was just the position of the seats, but I doubted that because I had successfully banged several other women in the same care and the same position in the past) or something because, and I say this with a beet red face, I could not get "in" her. My "Tool" kept sliding around and around, but wouldn't go in. Have you ever fumbled with an electric prong in the dark or in a hard to reach place? You know, where you keep missing the receptacle? It was like that. After a good twenty minutes of this, I finally gave up and took her back home. I would've rented a room (like I do now) but at the time, I was too cheap.
She never said a word about it. All things considered, in the end, she seemed pretty indifferent about it. Maybe she was a lot smarter than she let on and was simply clenching just to piss me off. Who knows.
A few weeks later, she called me up. She wanted me to take her to Disneyland. Even though her parents were also coming down for that particular weekend, she refused to hitch a ride with them because she wanted ME to pick her up.
Hell no was I going to drive from West Covina to Madera, BACK to Orange County, then BACK to Madera again to drop her off, and then BACK to West Covina again. I just wasn't going to do it. After that, she stopped talking to me, although every now and then, my aunt threatens to give her my new phone number and address. I'm sure that she's just kidding, but then again, she DOES know Grace's parents......

Hmmmmm.....
I was with an alcoholic, drug addicted abusive 'man' for 4 years and I still dig guys....
I think girls go to the 'other side' just to piss off their ex. For some reason, just thinking about two girls go at it does something for hetero guys. And thinking that their ex is doing it with another girl really gets to them.
At this point, I always say: She/he may be hot, but someone somewhere is tired of her/his s*it.....

NO NO!! I've been going out with someone (yes, a GIRL KROC) for a long time now and I'm actually considering asking her. Way to destroy what confidence I have!
As soon as you might sort of almost could maybe perhaps consider marriage, everyone you know gets divorced/cheats on their partner/gives you hour long lectures about how you'd "lose your freedom", and now even the people on A.net are doing it!
