Hey AA61hvy,
Can you explain the "Pro Complex?"
I've been lifting with some of my teammates from football and one of our coaches. We're doing some Russian type of workout 4 days a week. We do it in eight week cycles then check our max in bench, squat, and I think were going to add power cleans to it also. The results were pretty good. The first eight week cycle it was normal to see gains in someone's bench by 60+ pounds and 100+ pounds on squats. Good stuff. Our second week cycle ends next week.

Oh and you guys will appreciate this, I just had tuna fish on a bagel for my post workout meal. 112g of protein 98g in the tuna, (I made a lot) 10g in the bagel, and 4g in the piece of cheese. Ah got to love it!

Its been said for every pound of body weight you need 1.5g of protien, so if you weigh 200 lbs you need like 450g. But thats impossible, so I do as much protien as I can. Thats my rule

Usually .7-1g of protein per pound of body weight is enough. Too much protein can make your farts smell pretty bad. Taking protein throughout the day is better but since he ate it post workout it is ok as that is when you need the protein the most for repairing.
Procomplex works but make sure you dont substitute it for whole foods. It should be just what it is, a supplement. Meats such as chicken and beef should be the base of your protein. Slow digesting dairy protein (casein) is good before going to bed.

Good advice N521NA. I would take Pro Complex, after working out and before bed. 55g of protien per serving I base my protien on eggs, chicken, and red meat and tuna. yum yum!

Also here is an interesting bit of info:
A workout buddy of mine was talking to me about various weight lifting things, he said this "working out is 25% of getting big, 75% of it is what you put into your body" That is so true. Just something to reflect on.

Sorry it took me so long to responds to this, Yeah AA try it out, give it a month and see how it works for you. Try recording your workouts if you aren't already, and note if you see any improvements.

YOu know what is going to suck big time, I am going away to Europe on wed, and I won't be able to work out for like 2 weeks. I am going to have to watch what I eat when I am over there, good god.

Hi all- I'm just wondering- I don't do weights or anything, but I am looking to increase my muscle mass (for some serious Taekwondo, and just because). I'm 15 next month, but am a hair under 6'3", around 210lbs, with a pretty descent build. *I do have severe lumbar (lower back) problems though- would lifting not be a good move? Any advice would be appreciated- I am asking around.

Boeing747-7: 2 weeks is no problem. It will give your body a good break. You should get gains from a break. Then come back to Canada, and hit it hard. Everyone needs a break once in a while.

Notar-You can lift with back problems, just make sure you have some support.

I heard of a program where a person lifts 7 days a week for 10 months, then for 2 months they don't do any lifting but eat high protein (like normal) and they had huge gains. So your vacation is a miniature version of that. I always take a breather from lifting when I go on vacation.

I just bought an ABB protien drink, 50g of protien at GNC 3.24$ it was actually very good, and its cheaper and has more protein than Smoothie King. Check it out. I got the Vanilla flavor.

Ahhh that's one of many things I like about the USA you can get all the good supplements that you can not get here in Canada. Deooh, its so hard to find anything good here to take, I have to get all my stuff under the counter from the sates.

Yeah AA they have supplements in Canada but they are no where as good as the stuff you can buy in the USA, I guess Canadian Food and Drug laws won't allow certain ingredients to be sold here. Sucks for people like me I guess.

I have a question to all you iron pumping addicts here. I used to work out a lot throughout the past year and built up some muscle mass (at least it felt like it) and burned some fat. Now, iv'e completely slacked behind my schedule and have been months without any workout at all and feel generally much more 'flobby' than last year. Even though the scale only shows a marginal increase in weight.
Now, what do i have to do to best burn as much fat as possible and at the same time pump up my muscles? Last year my Monday to Friday schedule looked as follows: 50 mins running and after that various lifting with a 7-11kg dumbell.
And also, is it really necessary for me to use supplements when i do my workout? My main goal is to burn much fat, the muscle mass comes second and i 'm not aiming at becoming another Arnold Schwarzenegger or anything. Just get my body in shape.
Thanx for any advice.
26 AA61hvy: I don't know the kg to lb scale, but lift and run if you want to become more defined. You don't need supplements if you aren't trying to get big. And
27 AA61hvy: Did Boeing747-7.. go to Paris yet? He hasn't posted in about a week.
28 Mika: AA, I'm not trying to get big. I am pretty big already, i just wan't to get rid of the excess fat and as you put it, get more defined. So i guess i'll
29 AA61hvy: If you want to get cut, just lay off a lot of fat, eat high protien and do cardio. That should do the trick. Oh yeah lots of water!
30 Shawn Patrick: Hmm, I'm looking to increase muscle mass because well, there is nothing there! But, I also run too much, and I have to for the school XC and track tea
31 N521NA: Shawn, if you are an ectomorph and are trying to gain mass then running will do you no good. Make sure you are never hungry and are eating 5-6 meals a
32 AA61hvy: I am doing the 6 meals a day. It helps you get stronger and bigger every day.
