Well, after my long search I picked up my 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX from Planet Hyundai on Tuesday.
Today I managed to get some tint put on and took just a couple pictures! I will take more tomorrow without our ugly van (which the other side is in horrible shape after my brother had a run in with some rebar (how do you spell that..you know..long metal poles they use in reinforced concrete).
So, a few pictures! More to come with better light too...

Looks nice - how much did you pay for the tint? I want to tint my windows sometime
And now for some pics of my ghetto car (1991 Honda Accord EX-[aka no sunroof ])

I can't believe how much Hyundai has changed in the last few years. I drove one of their XG350 or whatever and it felt more like a top of the line Camry or Maxima. I heard their customer satisfaction has improved 80% in the last 2 years.
I always wondered why they used to built such mediocre cars when they build some of the best tanker ships and cranes in the world.

I was going to ask why you were talking about a new "car" after having bought a Hyundai, but then I saw the pictures. Quite nice, I hope it'll stay that way for a lot of time!

I wanna know more about the car (family may be getting one of these in next few months), but I also noticed your house in the background and that got me wondering, do they stick-frame houses down in Nevada? Do you have a basement?
Back to the car, did you test-drive it, and if so did you do the same for other cars? How did they compare?

Flight152, look at the 4th picture again and say fake wood. That is pure and simple fake plastic.
Omegous, It is indeed a cute little car. A throwaway car, but cute nonetheless.
Don't get excited, all cars are "throwaway" cars today. I doubt I'll ever again get 385000 miles from a vehicle, I'll settle for the 200000 I expect from my new truck. The 100K (at most) you'll get from your Huyandi will make it until the thing is paid off. No big deal as long as you don't ever wat a paid off vehicle. I just want something that will survive 4 or so years after my lat payment.
It's still a cute car though.
Enjoy.
PS: The car I bought when I was in my early 20s only made it to 90K. Very typical of mid 70s vehicles.

EmiratesA345.
Indeed there is not. I was trying to point out that this is not even a good representation of wood that it is absurd.
I'd spend the $12000 or so on this car myself understanding that after it was paid off in 3 years, I'd have payment free transportaion for another 2 years.

Believe it or not, this is NOT A 50,000 BMW!!!
I never bought it with that in mind. I bought it as it was the best value for money.
The "fake" wood trim looks MUCH better in person than in a photograph.
I have had the car almost a week and my family considers it the nicest car out of anything we have (my dad has a fully loaded 2002 F150, the van despite the damage is a 1998 fully loaded, leather interior van, my brother has a 2002 Honda Accord EX, and mine is STILL nicer than any of those) and I am personally very happy with it. Isn't that all that matters?

Of course we can't have a car thread without a supposed BMW owner talking down about other users rides.
I love these guys who can barely afford their cars or their car is bought for them who act like they run shit. LOL
Omegous's Sonata will get him from point A to point B just as well as any BMW and for a lot less money. Given his age, I'm sure it was a much wiser decision than to even go for a used BMW. The Sonata will have a full warranty too.

Omegous, that is exactly what matters, is that you are happy with the purchase. If you take care of it, you will have a car for a long time, not just 4 years!
By the way, slightly related (has to do with Korean cars), the new Kia Sorento SUV is supposed to have the same automatic transmission as the LS430, according to a friend of mine. I have a doubt this is true, anybody know for sure?

I paid 18,500 out the door, that includes taxes, docs, fees, etc.
That's not bad at all, considering ass-tastic Ford Focus' go for about 15 before taxes (mine would be about 17 before taxes) and those have NO features.
I think I got a good deal, I did a ton of research (a few months worth) and this was exactly what I wanted at exactly the price point. Not bad for a full time student, full time worker, full time flying lessons, and living on their own.

Come on folks, give him a break; he got a new buggy, allow some enjoyment.
I too have been shocked at how far and how fast Hyundai has come in their march to mainstream respectability and, with their last couple of years, they have arrived. The 100,000 mile warranty is no bad thing either.
Congrats, take good care of the car and it should serve you for a long time.

How is that? Beacuse my BMW holds its value 10X's better then any Hyundai, or, becase any BMW will last two and a half times longer then any Hyundai? Then again, your the one who started this comparison.
