In two months I'll be attending Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. I was wondering if any A.netters are currently enrolled there or graduated from there. Anything I should know about it? where to eat, where to go, what to see etc. I won't know anyone there.

P.S. If all you plan to contribute is telling me its a party school I've heard enough of that.

Never attended but drive thru campus alot and go to some spots on Mill Avenue and I can tell you this much.
The entire female ASU population has maybe 2 bras to go around. I'm not sure if there are the same 2 girls that get to wear them or if each girl gets a turn with a bra about once a semester, but for the most part, it seems that the poor girls don't have access to any support.

CMK10-
My advice (as a former Sun Devil myself) is to check out the ASU "Snowdevils" ski and snowboarding club (otherwise known as 'the drinking club with the skiing problem') on campus. They usually have a booth set up at the M.U. with plenty of cute girls.
It's like a fraternity without the hazing. You pay a fee to join (around $25.00 a year), and get a free t-shirt, membership card, and free admission to all the Snowdevil parties throughout the year.
Basically, you get to party and drink free all year at all their functions...plus, with membership in the hundreds, you'll make a ton of new friends.
As far as places to eat, there are tons of restaurants, fast food joints, and of course bars throughout Tempe and Scottsdale. A great place (if you are over 21) is The Vine, located on the SW corner of Rural and Apache. Thursday nights are the best, as just about all of ASU's most attractive women show up.
Another great place would be Dos Gringos, an outdoor Mexican palapa-themed bar and restaurant with plenty of eye candy (the $2.00 Coronas aren't a bad deal, either!) Maloney's on University is a great place as well.
Other than that, Mill Avenue has the best bars around.
Oh, and for those late-night cravings, be sure to order from Gumby's Pizza! You won't regret it. And Filiberto's (numerous locations) for 24/7 Mexican food.

Cosmic Pizza on Apache Blvd. isnt bad either, plus they deliver fairly late. If you are into good Chicago style pizza there is a restaurant in Scottsdale on Scottsdale Rd called Oreganos, they have great pizza. Bandersnatch on 5th Ave and Forest in Tempe is a great bar, they have good home brews plus internet access(7meg dsl line),both wired and wireless

You will have a blast at ASU even if your under 21. As you start to adjust, you will start to pick up many things to do that interest you. but that is with any big university. Remember, Sky Harbor Airport is only 5 minutes away as well! Approach and departure paths are pretty much right infront of ASU. Climb to the top of "A Mountain" and you will get a great view of planes landing on runway 25R/L.
Good places to eat are all around! Mill Ave of course is a great place to start out. But that can be costly to say the least. Try places like Pita Jungle, really good food for a good price, plus its healty! Imagine that, eating good while in college?!? I am going into my Junior year at ASU now, so any other questions feel free to ask. When you get to town I would be pleased to get you familiar with the surrounding area as well.

There is an Oregano's right there on University Ave as well.
Forgot to mention the proximity to Sky Harbor. I spend half of my time on campus looking at planes on approach. The other half? Did I mention the braless females?
I mean my wife!! I spend the other half looking at my wife.

I never knew about the Oreganos in Tempe. I miss living down in the East Valley (south Scottsdale). But now I have my soon to be wife to look at all the time . I dont know if you are much into the club scene at all CMK10, but there are quite a few clubs in Tempe. Most of them all have under 21 nights, which can be fun from time to time. If you are interested in watching planes, try heading over to the Tempe Beach Park, you can watch them turn final from here and they will fly right over you. Anyways I hope you enjoy Arizona, and of course the ASU women
