My friends and i are planning to do something different now finally...something totally different from the party-urban Boston life to something really chilled like fishing or hunting or going to a lake or something somwhere in New England. What suggestions would you guys have....where to go.I was thinking of Maine...ive never been there and i've heard its nice for these kind of things plus they are promoting it alot these days on TV.
What we wanna do is spend a weekend or so in a beautiful place...by a lake...lots of fishing...hunting seems too complicated by no harm in trying....a nice little grill to cook our catch....you know those kind of things...im sure you guys get the picture...
What would you recommend? I would appreciate all suggestions very much....

The White Mountains in New Hampshire are gorgeous. The area around Lake Winnapausakee (I butchered that name probably) in N.H also is just stunning. That's probably a 3/4 hour drive from BOS. In Maine, Arcadia National Park is worth the drive.

I went to college up there so we always did some exploring.

I'm going to check out the Adirondacks in upstate NY, and Maine is always good.
