I'm at work right now, trying desperately to ship a small package to India using FedEx shipping software. I dont understand the address/postal code system...heres what I have:
Attn: ----------
Company: -------------
Address (I assume): 10th Floor Telecom Building
V.S. Marg (Is this part of the address?)
Prabhadevi, Dadar, (West 400 028
Prabhadevi is the town, correct? Dadar is the region/province, correct? Is there a two letter abbreviation for Dadar (I need it)?
Is West 400 028 the postal code?
I cant figure this out for the life of me, whenever I try something different I get an error message and no 3-letter airport code for entry (which is essential)....

You dont understand, this is basically my summer job, I've been using the system for 3 months now, and routinely ship packages to Europe and South Korea. I dont think that the FedEx customer service rep will understand what I'm talking about...I dont think they know the abbreviation for Dadar, or what V.S. Marg is....considering WE (my company) TOOK THE ORDER.
I know a quite a few people on this website are Indian, or live in India currently, so they are probably the most knowledgeable on the format of the addresses in India...

Yeah, the customer service reps at FedEx wouldn't know how to ship a package to India. I mean UPS service reps don't know how to ship things to Canada.

JCS17- is this the job that you were bitching about? The one that was so tough in the factory or whatever? So tough, huh? Your cruising A.net on the clock.

BobRayner and BarfBag, thanks a lot! The package was able to be shipped and processed once I entered Mumbai (someone left the city off the form) and not Prabhadevi as the city.
Big help!
As for KROC---see any good DVDs at work lately while working on the public's dollar?
AA61hvy, hows that camp counselor job going ? They havent found out about your little fetish for young boys yet, have they?

AC320 don't need no book. Unlike some people who should read up on work ethics, learn how to use the phone, and understand that when you don't know something at work, you should ask.

I'm, err, an Information Worker but my team speaks several different languages and they're usually just as busy as I am.
Therefore, the internet is the fount of all knowledge. I've yet to face a problem that couldn't be answered with Google and a little thought, apart from "Why won't girls talk to me?".

Work ethics? Please. Give me a break, I think that my bosses would be more pleased that I did my job, and they didnt have to fill out an Intl Airbill by hand (I am the only person who can do intl shipments and customs papers on the computer).
and understand that when you don't know something at work, you should ask.
Like I said above, my bosses dont even know how to do intl shipments by computer. I know how to operate the system, I just didnt understand the address format that was given to me since I had never shipped a package to India before.

You do realize that you most likely could have gotten an answer out of the guys at 1-800-Go-Fedex in the 40 minutes it took to get an answer here . Minus the abuse too, unless KROC also works for FedEx answering phones.

That is only on my second job on the weekends. And the DVD player only arrived last week. Before that it was strickly VHS. Besides, don't even lie and tell me you would not want to work on the tarmac of an airport with the ability to watch movies all shift. At least I'm not asking someone to watch the movies for me ya sucka.

1.) Jcs likes the abuse....the pervert. Especially from older men.
2.) I don't work for FedEx, but I might have a friends or two there I could have contacted. Anything to give Jcs the "hard" time he so desires.

Is Dharavi going to start calling itself "Pali Hill (East)"???
ROTFLMAO!! Yeah, I was pretty surprised by the association between Pradhadevi and Dadar in the address too, but didn't think too much about it because its been a while since I left BOM and thought I might have been mistaken.
