To say it was a spectacular event probably wouldn't do it justice. The party was PHENOMENAL!
People; Beer; Other things  Wink/being sarcastic ; Bands; Females; Not to shy females  Wink/being sarcastic ; Food; Somebody in a previous post mentioned water  Laugh out loud It was all there, and it was alllll goooood!
The biggest concert of ..... Hell, I dunno - Canadian history, for sure, was held right here in good ole Tdot!
Superfly; You'll be happy to know RUSH still knows how to rok da hause! The Guess who held their own. The Rolling Stones sure pumped them up! Of course, AC/DC really made things come alive!! Damn - Those Auzzie lads sure do put on a good show, eh?! (read: party!)
I'll be interesting to know the final tally on how many people attended the event. However, concert-watch reports put ticket sales somewhere between 430,000 to 450,000 . Final tally might show greater numbers, though. The place was PACKED! Hats off to the event planners, though. They had everything in place, which allowed things to function smoothly.
What about the other members who attended - What's your take on the concert?

I was actually working there and people complained that they have to buy Food Tokens in a big line-up, to buy the food. The food was good but again it was expensive....$3 for a water bottle.
The best part, other than the music was the CF-18 and a topless girl (which I didn't see).

Water was free. I suspect they were buying water from scammers trying to make a buck at other's misfortunes.
Food tokens? I don't know anything about that. The food we bought was paid for right where they cooked and served it. It was served quickly and the price was kind of in line with what you'd expect to pay at many restaurants. You had to purchase beer tickets before you could get any beer at the beer tents. Some people didn't know this and wound up standing in line for several minutes for nothing.... Only to stand in line again.
The CF18 really surprised a lot of people. One of my buddies ducked when it screamed by on it's first pass. Dunno if he's got some childhood trauma issues to deal with or what  Laugh out loud I was hoping the jet would make a few more passes. As for the topless thing - I don't think it was as wide spread as some would have you believe. Then again, I did see a few  Big thumbs up

Yes - Disposable cameras. My three buddies each had one and used up all 27 exposures. Lots of exposures (heh heh). Perhaps I'll e-mail you the fruits of our labour when the film gets developed.

A.W. -- I agree with you 100%. The concert was a blast!!!

We arrived outside Gate 2 around 7pm the night before. We were the 140th & 141st people in line up against the fence (on Allen Road). We only got about 1 hrs sleep but it was well worth it. Once we got in and found our spot it was about 8:30 am and we were about 15 feet back from the stage...right beside the steel walkway that security/police/firefighters used so it was dead center stage.

This will be part of "Canadian History" I suspect.....it was huge!  Big thumbs up The Guess Who, Rush, AC-DC, Stones, they were all amazing!!! I was a bit suprised that the Stones were a 1/2 hour late going on.

We were up front so the "girls removing their tops" were right there. I guess they just wanted their 2 minutes of fame! We kept getting soaked when the firefighters turned the hoses on us. But it sure felt good!!!

We also are in a group shot taken by the Star - July 31/03 paper page D3 - it shows all of us just prior to getting in the gate around 8:05 am. Wow, lots of stuff in the papers, I've got copies of them to save so when I'm an old lady I can look back and know that I was actually a part of it!

I was home in bed by around 2:15 am......the walk from Downsview to Young/Shepard was really long.

Well, for all that attended I'm sure there are no regrets. For those who couldn't make it...well, maybe there will be another one and you will get to participate.

HEY! THERE YOU ARE! I was beginning to think you went MIA  Laugh out loud
Funny thing - We were a group of four, but one guy got booted out of the beer tent (#6) we were in (for reasons I won't disclose here). That was perhaps around the 6pm hour. We never saw him again till our rendezvous with the shuttle at Dufferin & Steeles.
We also used Gate #2. Got there sometime between 2 and 3 pm. After grabbing a munch, we worked our way towards the beer tents. Found one where the line wasn't so long that you could watch your grand kids go off to college, and stayed there till Rush got on stage. By the time AC was on, we had worked our way up to the 2nd barrier that separated the crowd from the front of the stage. We managed to get on to a little "mole hill", but, with all the body surfing causing people to loose their balance, we decided to move back a few yards to where it was a little more calm. We were dead centre of stage and parallel to the giant screen on the left side.
The walk up Duff. was ok. I didn't get home till sometime btwn 4 and 5 cuz I was hangin-out with a bunch of concert goers at our hotel room. I was so hyped that I couldn't get to sleep right away. Matter of fact, I'm just now coming down from all that excitement. I'm kinda having withdrawals, tho. So, I think I'm gonna head downtown and check out the scene at Caribana. I NEED SOME ACTION! It's gonna be kinda hard to top Wednesday's event, though.

A.W...I know exactly what you mean! I'm sort of on a "low" right now. I guess it will take a lot to beat that concert! Well, at least the fog has lifted and the rain has stopped so maybe you'll get some quality hours at Caribana!! Have fun!
