Well, there are many things to do im Rome. If it's your first time I would visit all the things to see, like the Coloseum and other Roman things.

Around the Spanish traps there are a lot of nice restaurants, but better first check the prices before you go in.

Buying a guidebook might help as well ...

cheers

What To Do In Rome, Italy

luxair, jooking ?

Rome is one of the most popular places to visit for thousands of yrs.

plenty of great places, restaurants etc.

As swissgabe said i would select a good guide (good translated ones) and spend some time reading to find out what is most interesting for you.

colloseum, vatican, pantheon, circus maximus are just a few of the very impressive high lights.

don´t try to see everything and take it slow to best absorb this amazing city .. you´ll come back there anyway ..

I was just in Roma last week, and I LOVE that town!! Make sure you drink at the badass drinking fountains that are on nearly every corner. The water is cold and clean. Those fountains are my favorite part of the city.

Also, every night at around 8 or 9:00 pm there is a pub crawl that meets at a plaza above the Colloso [Coliseum] Metro station. For 10 euro, you get unlimited beer with a great view of the Coliseum and then at around 10:00 everyone goes for a pub crawl to around 3-4 pubs around the city until 1:00 am.

What specific questions do you have? I lived in Rome for about half a year, so I can answer anything you have.

The best place for a romantic getaway would be in the Trastevere neighborhood, South of Vatican.... Rather than suggesting a particular place, I'd wander through the streets until you find somewhere you like....

Good cheap food can also be found in the neighborhood of the University of Rome (La Sapienza), and there are lots of young / counter-culture ppl hanging out there.

Finally, try to stray from the usual tourist spots -- people who only visit them are often left with a bad taste in their mouth -- but all of Rome is wonderful.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
