BRITNEY COMES OUT SWINGING FOR BUSH Wed Sep 03 2003 19:35:45 ET
Britney Spears came out swinging for President Bush on Wednesday during an interview with CNN's Tucker Carlson.
CARLSON: A lot of entertainers have come out against the war in Iraq. Have you?
SPEARS: Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.
CARLSON: Do you trust this president?
SPEARS: Yes, I do.
CARLSON: Excellent. Do you think he's going to win again?

LOL where is that topic on stupid quotes again? Blind support/trust, of course that's the way forward.

I would hardly call that a ringing endorsement of Dubya by any means. Sounds like she reflects a more general trend of apathy and indifference towards anything political... which frankly is nice coming from a Hollywood type.

Babs.... She had a couple funny movies, but I'm not much of a fan. If I were picking my favorite liberal entertainer, it'd probably have to be Grace Slick.

For whatever it's worth, everybody here has misspelled Streisand's first name. It's actually Barbra.

Brittany's ...uhhh... career is in the pooper.
She's looking for that big chance to sing "America, the Beautiful" at the GOP Convention in her micro-bikini. Wet T-shirt optional. Whip and leather boots mandatory. Lynne Cheney beware - you have a competitor !
Should keep all those God fearing Republican types all horned up and happy.

Personally, I look at her "endorsement" and political views much the same as I look at those of Susan Sarandon, et al. WHO GIVES A RAT'S ASS WHAT THESE HOLLYWOOD PRIMA DONNAS THINK? Stick to entertaining us and serve yourselves a heaping cup of Shut the F**k Up!

Notice that Britiny did not say whether she would vote for GWB, or endorses his reelection. She just said that a nation should stand behind its president when embroiled in foreign affairs. I don't see what's wrong with that. And after 4 years, you can decide if you are happy about the course he has taken you down.
Think as the country as a warship. When the ship goes into combat, it does nobody any good (except the enemy), if the crew start arguing over every decision the captain makes. (That's why officers carry pistols, by the way.)

What I want to know is who cares if Brittney said she supports the President? I mean its not like the comment would be different if someone else was president. M

She did not say to just back the President in a conflict, Cfalk, she said "Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision that he makes and we should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens."
Now, I don't want to have that much blind faith in ANYONE who is a politician, let alone George W. Bush. This is mindless "let-him-think-for-me" stuff, as I see it. Just back him, and whatever happens, happens. Sorry, that's what got us in trouble as a nation leading up to Iraq.
