CNN said she was only stabbed in her arm but Swedish media says she was also stabbed in the abdomen and chest.

Strange. It reminds me that the mystery surrounding the murder of former PM Olof Palme has never be solved.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good theory.

Lindh has been the on of the most actives persosn in the Pro-€uro campaign (referendum on Sunday), is one of the most popular politicans in Sweden and is considered as one of the candidates to succeed Persson as PM.

Yes, she´s on the operation table right now, she got stabbed at one of her wrists, 5-8cm long cut about 4 cm deep according to the young nurse (a visitor to the shopping centre). Also stabbed in the stomach which she´s
being operated for, the attacker was covered with blood when he left and
still on the run.
Basically sad, very sad, slack security again....

JAL777,
you'd be surprised if you knew how lax security is around these people. I mean, in Denmark, the PM is listed in the phone book, so anyone can call him if they like.
Also, our former secretary of finance is known for riding his bike to/from parliament.

I wonder if this will result in a landslide in the Euro-referendum. I mean, if the attacker is found & he's anti-Euro, it would result in a massive amount of sympathy. That's how Pim Fortyuen's party won the election in the Netherlands.

Actually, I would like to read Swedish members' views on the euro (if indeed they have one).

As an outsider, there never seems to be any solid case FOR the euro being any better than the existent local currency (at least that is the feeling of some commentators here in the UK) so it seems more of a political question (do you want to join this part of the EU project?)

Any opinions welcome, especially from our Swedish members.

Sorry, it´s just too much right now.
Latest update is that the found some of the bloody clothes from the attacker has been found.

Ooops, I apologise, I have belatedly realised my above post wasn't in the best of taste.

Apologies.

Ok, I take it I'm not offending anyone by asking:

Who do you think will win in the referendum? According to newspapers in the UK, it's closer now than it was before, but there still appears to be a slightly bigger 'no' camp - any truth in this, and do you still think Sweden will vote to join in the end?

Indeed - such a shame.

I think most people were happy to hear that she was improving, but apparently she simply had too many internal bleedings.

Indeed. I just hope that the apparently great, well-liked Swedish official will get the attention and respect she very much deserves from the United States today.

God rest her soul, and bless Sweden.
