For me, the two most beautiful cities in the world are Atlanta and Savannah, with Charleston running a close third. Savannah also has some gorgeous Atlantic beaches. But no beaches compare with those of the Florida Panhandle (surprise, it's where I live...)

They say that there are four really attactive modern cities in the world

Cape Town
San Francisco
Vancouver
Sydney

Haven't done Sydney (yet - going in Nov), and I would be hard pushed to decide on the other three, they are all stunning.

For a bit of histoty I'd go for Rome.

In terms of physical beauty, including surroundings, etc., I don't think there is any city on earth that can compare to Rio De Janerio.

Might I interject some rather late rules in this game? If you're going to be subjective (which you have to be in this category), at least include some "whys" as to your particular choice!

2. VANCOUVER (mountains, the sea, the beaches)
3. HELSINKI (magic, the architecture, the ocean)
4. ZURICH (the big small city, gorgeous!)
5. PRAGUE (the romance, the architecture, the history-lovely!)

I forgot to say Prague.......it is the most stunning city you can ever go to. A huge castle looks down on you, the houses are all old, trams are everywhere....it's just fantastic! I also think Rio is pretty funky, and Shanghai as well.

San Francisco- very beautiful city always something new to discover everytime I go back. Plus midnight flights back to Dallas so I can maximize my time there!!

I have also heard CCS is a beautiful city. I also heard it is very dangerous. Is it, or a person just has to be careful like anywhere else?

I also would like information on PMO. I have heard Sicily is very dangerous as well.

Bora Bora, that place is georgous! Clear ocean water, powder beaches, and practily NO people!! That place is great. In close second in Cancun, for the beaches, then George Town, Grand Cayman, for the beaches, and architecture, then Los Cabos for El Arco, and the beaches and water, and deasert, they meet all at the same place, just georgous!

I find that the view FROM Victoria harbour in at the city og Hong Kong is pretty un matchable. You can see the contrast of old housing blocks and new, tall skyscapers. right behind the buildings are mountains covered with trees. The way that the buildings are packed so densely is so amazing. I think Hong kong is very beautiful.
