That's right, palaeontologists have found the fossilized remains of a Guinea Pig that lived nearly 8 Million years ago.

The remains where found near Caracas, the team that found the giant hamster included scientists from Venezuela, Germany and the US. The creatures scientific name is Phoberomys pattersoni. Those scientists also put the size of the animal at about 10 feet long and about 3 and half feet tall.

They estimate that 90% of the fossilized skeleton where recovered by the expedition in 2000, but waited until now to announce it.

All this leads to my question: How big of an aquarium would this guinea pig need? And how many tons of cedar chips?
