My purchases usually consist of Ritter Sport chocolate, Maker's Mark bourbon, and/or Glenfiddich, my favorite single malt.

Ciggies and booze.
I don't use them, but they're always nice little gifts for hard-to-buy-for friends

Cheers!  Big thumbs up

    Superfly,

Have you ever had Appleton Estates Rum? It is from Jamaica. We bought and had some in Cancun. Best Rum and Coke I have ever had and believe me, I had enough to become an expert!

Thats strange LHMark. Usually when you are waiting for a guy to take a shot, you open your mouth, not cover your head.

Anyway, at the duty free I buy alcohol. I had no idea they sold other stuff there!  Big grin It usually varies what I buy with each visit, but a staple is Bombay Blue Sapphire Gin.

I buy nothing... I always find it overpriced. And who wants to carry that stuff around the airport for 2-3 hours?

To hell with Duty Free. I was going to buy a digital camera from the Duty Free shop in the city until I noticed the same camera in a regular store for about $75 less.

I really don't see Duty Free as being worth it. How do the prices of alcohol and cigarettes compare?

You can get ciggies for USD 15 per carton or even lower at US airports, which is about 50-60% off. Prices are so much lower in Singapore and other Asian airports (I usually buy 2 cartons for less than USD 18).

    Cuban Cigars!!!!!

    They're great gifts for:

    - Bachelor party
    - Birth of child
    - Promotions
    - Big deal at work

They're hard to get in the US because of the embargo.

Cigarettes for my friends usually Winfield Extra Mild, and Jim Beam Black for me. The profit I get from my friends goes partly to the cost of the alcohol.

Cigarettes in Australia are about $35.00 duty free are about $55-$60 in the shops.

Eau de parfum, lipstick, nail varnish for my wife, chocolate for my daughters and some US Bourbon whisky just for me.

And I like to test generously the best man eau de toilette on my own person to smell nice when boarding my plane.  Wow!
