Sorry, world. The Yankees won a playoff series. While you, the world, are bitching about it, notice no self-admiring home-run performances...no ries to the media when it looked tough... no bad-mouthing, back-talking, trash-spewing slack-ass attitude. Notice instead a classy team that creates its own victories; a team that is jealously written off in the division series year after year. A team that EARNS its victories and shuts up about them when they occur. Your next world series champion. Your New York Yankees

Ah yes, the Yankees.

The best team money can buy.

It's really pretty sad when the Yanks get more revenue from their TV contract than small market teams like the Twins spend on the entire teams salary.

Ahhh yes. The bitter anti-Yankee hosers must make their appearance. If the Chowds lose tonight, the Yankees could essentially win the World Series in 8 straight games.

You know, the toughest thing in the world has to be a Yankees fan. I mean, I pity the people. It's so tough followinga team that buys championships every year; it's tough followinga team that's ONLY won about 27 World Championships. It's so tough having to root for that every year. I mean, can anyone think of a worse thing than being a Yankee's fan? (dripping with sarcasm).

And Jcs, you're from the South, so how the hell are you a Yankee's fan? Or, are you one of these front-runners that you see all over the country who just root for the Yankees?

Alpha1, I'm VERY insulted. I AM NOT FROM THE SOUTH! I have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, D.C., Connecticut, and only within the past six-seven years Atlanta and Dallas. I picked up all my rooting interests from when I was living in Connecticut (Islanders, Yankees, Giants)--and most of my family is from the Northeast, as well.

And out of all that, you root for the easiest team in the world to root for, the New York Yankees. It's as I guessed-a front-runner.

Rooting for the Yankees in 1988-1989 wasnt exactly the easiest thing to do. In fact, I started rooting for the Yankees just because my old man is a Mets fan.

And ALpha 1. We have established several times over Jcs used to live in Conn. and went to Yankee games as a kid...back when they sucked, so he gets a pass...unless he is being a dick, then the best way to piss him off is call him a bandwagon jumper.  Big grin

You guys have a point. The Yankees do buy their championships. On other teams, the players and organizational staffers are volunteers. Plus, you know that after every championship they win, they have a big fire sale, getting rid of all their best players.

I am a White Sox fan (being from Chicago) and I never said the Yankees suck, I just honestly dont like the organization and team. Afterall, isnt this what this website is about, people voicing their opinions?

The Yankees are more beatable this year than they have been in years. If anybody thinks they're going to breeze their way to another World Championship, they've got another thing coming.

Soriano, Boone, and Giambi have not done anything at the plate, Jeter's fielding is clearly down from before he hurt his shoulder, the bullpen is the worst Yankees bullpen in several years, and the starting pitching, while good, has consistenly gotten pounded this year by the Sox.

What would be more satisfying than watching the Boss go ballistic after the Sox knock 'em out? Answer: Watching the Boss go ballistic after the A's, with one third the Yankees' payroll, knock 'em out.

It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.

I think that this could be the year for the Yankees. After all, it has been too long since the city of New York has won a championship (over a thousand days)...

As a Yankees fan, I really think that this team will win the World Series. Is this the best Yankees team I have ever seen? No. But, this team has dealt with problems this year, and has bounced back from them. From Boomer's book, to being no-hit, to the August swoon, the Yankees have had some major issues. But, after each one, they have come back very strongly. I think that this is all a good sign for the Yankees, as they do have something going on that will give them that push to the World Championship.

A transplanted New Yorker in Boston (yes, I am sickened by how the Red Sox celebrate like its the end of the world for winning the WILD CARD),

KROC, why is it, that you have to make an issue of anything I say to Jcs anymore? Is it not OK that he defends himself, and he's old enough to look after himself. I always notice you're putting your nose in on any difference the two of us have. Now, why the hell is that?

And I'll still contend he's just on the eternal Yankee bandwagon.  Big grin

Hey Alpha 1. Get your head out of the sand. I simply stated a FACT about Jcs, that most knew. You just want to attack him anyway you can, and the fact you say And I'll still contend he's just on the eternal Yankee bandwagon. just strenghtens the 'bitter old man' image that you are prefecting on an internet website. Well done.

Oh, and I bet you will be on Lebron James nutsack once the NBA starts....WAIT, you all were when he was in high school. Silly me. Enjoy the gravy train.

KROC, I didn't give a shit about LeBron James in High School. He didn't go to my school; I couldn't stand the hype, and I can't stand the NBA. I'll be interested to see how he and the Cavs do, as a basketball fan, but other than that, you're as far off base as a runner about to be picked off of first by Pudge Rodriguez.
