I saw it on the IAA in flesh. It looks so damn gorgeous in real, especially in black.

And wait for the M6....550 HP 5 litre V10  Smile

yeah i love the new slick style bmw applies.
it takes time to get used to, but it is a significant progress design wise compared to what mercedes and audi produce these days.
thumbs up bmw!

While I don't like very much the desing that BMW is using in these days, I admit this is a wonderful car!!!! It reminds me of Maserati desing  Smile

Someone needs to put a fist in whatever monkey's face that's designing all the new bimmers! ('cept the Z4, that one's nice).

JAL777, you're not alone. That car's rear looks like a disgrace to Picasso.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has noticed this or not. Visualize the roofline extending down the back without the squared off corner/trunk there. See the extreme resemblence to the Porsche 911?

Flyf15-

the fender flares are a bit Porsche, but everything screams Bangle.

another stunner, I want to collect 'em all.

Flyf15,

I had the exact same thought when I saw it for the first time. It resemblences the Porsche 993 Turbo with its whaletail. Actually I believe that Bangle definately got inspiration by looking at it. Not that it's a bad thing considering that the 911 still looks so hot today, after 40 years.

The back doesn't bother any of you guys? The front looks better than the new 5 series, but the back is what really gets me.

I think it's pretty nice looking, but perhaps not a styling coup (in fact, the proportions and a couple of design cues reminds me a bit of the upcoming - dare I say - "Australian" Pontiac GTO. Styling subjectivity aside, I wonder how many folks here will opine that nobody needs a $75,000 coupe except to show off in, as has been the thrust of many other arguments on these forums (ie: the currently dying-down Hummer war)?

Will somebody suggest that it would make more sense to buy a comparably packaged vehicle for less than half the price, or is all this affluence o.k. when it' spent on prestige marques? ...jack

That was one of the questions that my sales rep asked me--are you going to wait for the M6 (I have a 2005 M5 on deposit)? Seeing as though they will not commit to delivery...and that at the least it will be about 85k+ out the door...it's getting a little pricey to own the M series lately.....

I think the convertible looks a bit like an Audi..since it doesn't have the air inlet below the bumper (assume it's a concept car...).

Very nice ride.

I think the upcoming 6 is one of the better "Banglish" efforts. But I agree with Greg that the ragtop looks as it it comes from Stuttgart, not Munich. I will stick with my E39, the last of the classic BMW designs . . .

Cptkrell,

somehow Porsche manages to be the most profitable car manufacturer in the world by just selling high-priced cars nobody needs. And I admit, once I've climbed the career ladder far enough, I want a Porsche, too  Smile

I used to own a 1985 635CSi with over 250,000 mi/400,000 km on the odo, and I'd say that that the new 6 does a good job of carrying the 6 nameplate I'll have to wait for one of them to get their car washed at my car wash before I can make a final judgement. The E24 is still one of the finest looking Bimmers ever made, though.

Who remembers the M635csi? 24valve 286bhp
it was a masterpiece, this one will probably be comfortable and luxurious and heavy, nothing to do with the original 6 series, but better this than no 6-series at all. The 8-series were too heavy and soft to take the flagship
