I just bought a Premium membership. It was worth it. For $25 you get unlimited access, and these forums are so good, they rival a computer game for entertainment value. They are inspirational, educational and humorous. $25 is a small price to pay.

Grandfathered in...had FC privileges back in the days when I was a chat op but no longer have them...personally I dont think its worth it...the only differentiating feature to me is the instant messaging feature (popups arent too bad anymore), and I can live without that...

Yes, I think its worth it, if for nothing more than supporting the site. We all pretty much enjoy the site, and spend time here, so when FC was made available, I signed up. 5 bucks a month is a small price to pay for having the chance to talk with and meet (in person as well) some very cool people. Plus I know as small as it may be, my loot was going towards the site. I even continued to pay for several months after becoming crew, just because.

I agree wholeheartedly with Bobrayner and KROC regarding paying for it. At the end of the day there is no such thing as a free lunch - if you use it and enjoy it - support it. The more people who pay, the less we all have to pay.
Here endeth the cliche lesson for today.

I am paying for this site, I believe it is well worth it, like somebody said, there is no such thing as a free lunch. The information/rumors that I get off of this site is amazing, plus lots of interaction with members from other countries, that I enjoy.

Like most of the others, I was grandfathered into the site and therefore do not need to pay, but to suggest that if there was an increase in first class members, that all of a sudden airliners.net would lower the price across the board is wishful thinking at best. I live happpily in a capitilist society, and know that despite the message of the costs for bandwidth being high, this site makes a decent profit. I am delighted that it does, Johan came up with a nice idea, kept working at it, and it has paid off for him. As far as I am concerned this is the perfect story. But roughly 800 members paying 5 dollars per month more than covers the costs of running this site.... by a wide margin.

I always thought it was free to join until I joined LOL.
But really I had been coming to this site for years and then decided to join after you had to pay.
But hay its all worth it. Personally I would like my FirstClassMembership to do a little bit more for me but I still LOVE IT HERE!!!
