Im really bad at it and need help! Any ideas
Write a tcl/tk program that provides some of the functionality of the Regex Coach that you have been using for the previous exercise but also provides some extra functions. Minimally there should be two editable boxes that allow a user to enter a regular expression in one box and to test it against a text entered into the other box. The design of the interface is up to you.
Once this has been implemented, extend your interface by adding controls (buttons, menus - again you decide) that help the user write her regular expression : for instance there could be a button marked "Any character" that inserts a ? into the regular expression when it is clicked.
You may like to think about using entry and/or text widgets, button and/or menubutton widgets. Design the layout of your window on paper before you start to implement the code, making sure that you understand how it fits into a grid.

Assuming that you are implementing it in PERL under Unix/Linux, does it have to be tcl/tk? I detest working with tcl/tk, much prefer GTK, or better still wxWindows as it allows piss-easy cross platform development - although wxWindows isn't exactly Perl friendly, you can get perl-like RegExp modules for C++ which are breeze to work with.
Give me a bit more information and I might be able to help.
