Here in Canada, the only one that I am familiar with from that list is Subway. They are alright, but Quizno's is by far better, albeit much pricier.

Subway is absolutely gross...the crap there is so low quality.

1. By far and away....Jersey Mike's
2. Bigfoot Subs (a local place here in Dallas)
3. The Great Outdoors (another Dallas chain)
4. Blimpie

Are the Eegees in Phoenix gone then? The original grinder has been my favorite for over 30 years.

SUBWAY!!!!

We recently got Quizno's and everyone was excited but were let down because I guess it does not taste as good as down south and the service is not as good. I have not been there though as nobody I know likes it.

We have a place called DiBella's (a bunch of locations now, throughout western NY and in all the Wegmans stores, but started right in ROC) that blows every sub I've ever had away.

Schlotzkis!!!! I know they are not subs, per se, but they are yummy! The closest one to me is 25 miles, but it is worth it! http://www.cooldeli.com I like Quiznos too. There is a sign for Hogi Yogi at a gas station near Space Needle in Seattle but they took out the restaurant. Blimpies has too much grease and Subway is becoming a bit like Starbucks and hookers: one on every corner....

Quizno's is a rip off. Charge another $2 just because they toasted the bun. They're almost the "Starbucks" of sub places.

I prefer Subway.

My favorite is a local shop with two outlets, Home Run Heroes. Most of its subs and wraps are named after baseball greats (the "Mick," the "Hank," the "Babe," etc.) and both outlets are filled with baseball memorabilia. Almost all of its subs are really good.

I've been to Hogi-Yogi. They're better than Subway, but then again most sandwich shops are. I don't see anything particularly special about them though.

Hogi Yogi is ok... nothing great about that place.

And I hate to do this, but I never saw what was so great about Egee's. This is coming from someone who spent his formative years in Phoenix and Tucson mind you.

Subway plain sucks. If they had decent bread than it would be acceptable. But the bread there just ruins it for me.

If you like Italian Beef I suggest you go to Luke's on Ft. Lowell and Stone in Tucson... the stuff is to die for.
And there is a place on Rt. 7 in Falls Church, VA called Jerry's that does a decent cheesesteak.

Again it is all in the quality of the bread for me.

KROC, the meat at Blimpie is so much better than that at Subway. And at Blimpie you don't get 3% meat and 97% lettuce on your sub.
